국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 분석심리학적 관점에서 모래놀이 치료에 나타난 ‘손(hand)’의 상징을 탐색하고 내담자의 심리적 변화 과정 속에서 손의 상징이 어떤 방식으로 나타나며 작용하는지를 밝히는 데 있다. 특히 창조와 파괴, 관계와 연결의 매개, 자율성과 통제, 치유의 상징 등 다양한 상징적 의미를 지니고 있다는 점에 주목하여, 모래놀이 장면 속 손의 표현이 내담자의 무의식적 주제 및 심리적 통합에 어떤 기여를 하는지 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구는 모래놀이 치료 사례를 중심으로 성인 내담자 4명을 선정하였다. 자료 수집은 모래놀이 세션에서 촬영된 사진, 치료자의 세션 기록지, 내담자의 발화 내용 등을 활용하였다. 분석 방법은 융의 분석심리학 이론에 근거하여 실시하였으며, 모래 상자에 나타난 상징물(손 모양 찍기, 물모래를 사용한 손의 구조물)과 손의 움직임(만지기, 쓰다듬기)을 중심으로 해석하였다. 연구 결과 손이 신성성, 권력, 관계성과 사회성, 파괴와 재생, 정체성과 주도성 등의 상징적 주제를 나타내고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 손이라는 신체 부위가 모래놀이 치료에서 다층적인 상징으로 나타나며, ‘손’은 내담자의 내면 심상, 자아 구조, 관계 욕구를 표현하는 핵심 매개체로 기능하며, 치료자에게는 내담자의 심리적 상태를 이해하는 데 중요한 단서가 될 수 있다. 또한 본 연구는 모래놀이 치료에서 상징 분석을 적용한 사례 연구로서, 상징 해석의 임상적 활용 가능성을 확장하였다는 점에서 학문적, 실천적 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the symbol of ‘hand’ in sand play therapy from an analytical psychological point of view, and to reveal how the symbol of the hand appears and works in the process of psychological change of the client. In particular, paying attention to the fact that it has various symbolic meanings such as creation and destruction, mediation of relationships and connections, autonomy and control, and symbols of healing, the purpose of this study is to analyze how the expression of the hand in the sand play scene contributes to the unconscious subject and psychological integration of the client. This study selected four adult clients, focusing on the cases of sand play therapy. Data collection was performed using photos taken in the sand play session, the therapist’s session record, and the client’s speech. The analysis method was analyzed focusing on symbols (hand-shaped photography, hand structure using water sand) and hand movements (touching, petting) in a sand box based on Jung’s analytical psychology theory. As a result of the study, it was found that the hand represents symbolic themes such as sacredness, power, relationship and sociality, destruction and regeneration, identity and initiative. In this study, the body part of the hand appears as a multi-layered symbol in sand play therapy, and ‘hand’ functions as a key medium expressing the client’s inner image, self-structure, and relationship, and can be an important clue for the healer to understand the client’s psychological state. In addition, this study is a case study that applied symbol analysis in sand play therapy, and has academic and practical significance in that it has expanded the possibility of clinical use of symbol interpretation.
