몽골인 신입생의 한국 유학 및 한국어 학습 경험에 대한 내러티브 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 몽골인 신입생의 한국 유학 경험과 한국어 학습 과정에 대한 내러티브 탐구를 수행하였다. 기존 몽골인 한국어 학습자에 대한 연구는 주로 발음, 어휘, 문법 등의 언어적 측면에 초점을 맞추었으나 본 연구는 몽골인 학습자의 개별적 경험 과 정체성 형성, 사회·문화적 적응 과정을 심층적으로 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 참여자는 서울 소재 A대학교에 재학 중인 몽골인 신입생 3명이며 한 학기 동안 심층 면담과 수업 관찰을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 이렇게 수집된 자료는 Clandinin & Connelly(2000)의 ‘3차원 공간’ 접근 방식을 적용하여 시간적, 공간적, 사회적 차원에서 심층적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 몽골인 신입생들은 한국에 대한 높은 문화 적 친숙도를 갖추고 있을 뿐만 아니라 강한 내적 동기와 풍부한 인적 네트워크를 형성하고 있었으며 이들은 학업 성취도와 진로 탐색에도 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 이러한 몽골인 학습자들을 보다 효과적으로 지원하기 위한 교육적 시사점을 제시하며 향후 다양한 배경을 가진 학습자들을 대상으로 한 내러티 브 연구의 필요성을 강조하는 데 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

This study conducted a narrative exploration of Mongolian freshmen's experience studying in Korea and the Korean language learning process. Existing research on Mongolian Korean learners mainly focused on linguistic aspects such as pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar, but the purpose of this study is to explore in-depth the individual experiences, identity formation, and social and cultural adaptation processes of Mongolian learners. The study participants were three Mongolian freshmen attending A University in Seoul, and data were collected through in-depth interviews, class observations during one semester. The data collected in this way were analyzed in-depth in terms of time, space, and social dimensions by applying Clandinin & Connelly's 'three-dimensional space' approach. As a result of the study, Mongolian freshmen not only had high cultural familiarity with Korea, but also formed strong internal motives and rich human networks, which were found to have an important influence on academic achievement and career exploration. This study is meaningful in presenting educational implications to support these Mongolian learners more effectively and emphasizing the need for narrative research targeting learners from various backgrounds in the future.
