일반 초등학생을 대상으로 한 무의미단어 말지각검사 개발을 위한 예비연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 학령기 아동을 대상으로 무의미단어의 말지각 검사를 개발하기 위한 예비연구로, 시각적 정보제공에 따른 말지각검사에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 초등학교 3학년부터 6학년 학생 11명으로, 조용한 장소에서 일대일로 약 1m의 간격을 두고 검사자와 대상아동이 마주 앉아 검사를 실시하였다. 두 세트의 무의미단어를 시각정보 유무에 따라 무작위로 제시하고, 아동은 지각한 단어를 글로 작성하게 하였다. 자료는 목표단어가 맞으면 1점, 틀리면 0점으로 총점수를 계산해서 백분율로 처리하였다. 연구 결과, 초등학교 중학년 이후부터 조용한 상황에서의 말지각은 시각적 정보를 활용하지 않으며, 어중 종성 위치에서 오류율이 상대적으로 높게 나타나 음소의 위치와 특성이 말지각에 중요한 변수로 작용함을 확인하였다. 결과를 바탕으로 무의미단어 리스트를 개발할 경우 종성에 위치한 음소를 제외하고 음소위치별 한국어 음소를 분포할 수 있는 리스트로 재수정하여 활용할 필요가 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study is a preliminary attempt to develop a speech perception test using nonwords for school-age children. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of providing visual information during the speech perception test. The subjects of this study were 11 students from the 3rd to 6th grades of elementary school. The examiner and the child being tested sat face-to-face approximately 1 meter apart in a quiet environment. Two sets of nonwords were randomly presented, with and without visual information, and the children were asked to write down the perceived words. The data were processed as percentages by assigning 1 point for each correctly perceived target nonword and 0 points for incorrect responses. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the location and characteristics of phonemes act as important variables in speech perception since middle school in elementary school, as speaking perception in quiet situations does not utilize visual information, and the error rate is relatively high at the end of the language. Based on these results, when developing a list of nonwords, it will be necessary to reconfigure and adjust Korean phonemes for each phoneme position, excluding phonemes located at the end of words.
