청소년의 자해 경험에 대한 질적 사례 연구: 거기서 기다리는 나는 없다

국문 초록

이 연구는 여자 고등학생 참여자의 자해 경험에 대해 질적 사례 연구로 이해하고자 함이 목적이다. 본 연구자는 참여자의 자해행동에 대한 의미를 중층적으로 살펴보고, 레비나스(Levinas)의 타자철학으로 낯설게 보기를 시도하였다. 자료수집은 반구조화 질문으로 10회기 심층 면담을 주(主)로 하였고, 자료의 다각화를 위해 현장 관찰과 현지 자료들을 참고하였다. 심층 면담을 통해서 범주화된 참여자의 자해 경험은 14개의 소범주, 7개의 중범주, 2개의 대범주이다. 중범주는 ‘집안에서 유능한 맏딸로 압박받기’, ‘학교에서 반 꼴찌 면하기 위해 발버둥치기’, ‘사회에서 완벽한 여자사람 되기’, ‘또래에게 외면당하기’, ‘자해의 시작’, ‘중독으로 빠져들기’, ‘벗어나기’로 주제화되었다. 참여자의 비자살적 자해행동은 초기에 스트레스 해소 역할을 했으며, 자살적 자해행동으로 이행했다가 극복과정에서 다시 비자살적 자해로 이행하였다. 참여자가 원하는 도움은 존재 대(對) 존재로서 만남의 관계였다. 본 연구자는 이 연구를 통하여 청소년 자해행동에 대한 이해와 함께 폭력과 소외, 윤리적 관계 맺음을 성찰하고 전체성으로 환원하는 우리 사회의 구조적인 문제에도 접근하고자 하였다. The purpose of this study is to understand the experiences of self-injury behavior of adolescent participants through qualitative case study. In order to understand the meaning of the participant’s self-injury behavior in layers, the researcher adopted the Levinas' philosophy to see it unfamiliarly. The study collected data mainly from the ten in-depth interviews with semi-structured questions with one female high school student. In addition to in-depth interviews, local data were referenced along with field observation for data diversification. Participant’s non-suicidal self-injury behavior initially played a role in relieving stress, transitioned into suicidal self-injury behavior, and then to non-suicidal self-injury behavior in the process of overcoming it. The participant of the study needed deep sympathy and the fulfilled relationship as ‘being to being,' The study provides an in-depth understanding of adolescent self-injury behavior and reflects on conducting counseling. Furthermore, it is intended to have the significance of the importance of qualitative nurturing and caring of adolescents in their growing phase with the ‘ethical relationship.’ Through this study, I tried to reflect on violence, alienation as well as approach the structural problem of our society in which the other is reduced to the totality.
