한 중국인 유학생의 체육학 석사과정 경험에 관한 협력적 자문화기술지

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한 중국인 유학생인 연구자이자 연구참여자 ‘나’의 체육학 전공 석사과정 경험을 들여다보고 그 의미를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 협력적 자문화기술지를 활용했다. 구체적으로 자료는 연구자의 1년간 대학원 생활과 관련한 연구일지, SNS 자료, 수업관련 자료와 선행연구 등 관련 문헌을 수집했다. 수집된 자료는 내용분석과 영역분석을 통해 하위범주를 도출했다. 연구의 진실성 확보를 위해 다각도 검증, 전문가 협의회, 구성원 간 검토를 진행했다. 연구 결과, 중국인 유학생의 체육학 석사과정 경험은 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘초보 연구자 입문(시간적 관점)’은 ‘낯선 이방인의 대학원 적응기’와 ‘유학생으로서 논문작성의 어려움’으로 나타났다. 둘째, ‘학문공동체 형성(관계적 관점)’은 ‘지도교수와 나: 학문적 도반(道伴)’, ‘대학원 동료와 나: 또 하나의 가족’, ‘내가 바라보는 나: 여전히 이방인’으로 나타났다. 논의 및 제언에서는 중국인 유학생의 석사과정 경험의 의미와 향후 후속 연구주제를 제시했다. 본 연구 결과가 국내 체류하는 해외 유학생의 대학원 생활 경험을 폭넓게 이해하고 외국인 대학원생의 학문입문과정과 교육에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다. The purpose of this study is to examine Kinesiology master program experience in South Korea from a Chinese graduate student’s perspective. To this end, this study used collaborative autoethnography. Specifically, the data were collected from research note, individual interviews, and related documents for one year. The data were analyzed based on content analysis, inductive and deductive coding procedure. For the trustworthiness of this study, triangulation, member checking, and expert meeting were conducted. The results were as follows: First, ‘becoming beginning researcher (chronological view)’ which revealed ‘an alien’s adaptation to graduate school’ and ‘a difficulty to conduct research as a foreign student.’ Second, ‘joining academic community (relational view)’ which revealed ‘academic adviser and me: the mentor-mentee relationship,’ ‘graduate school colleagues and me: another family,’ and ‘me from internal view: living as an alien.’ Discussion and future suggestion were provided. This study implies that international student’s graduate school experience to become a beginning researcher need to be carefully considered.
