국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 다문화 가정 유아의 발화오류 유형, 교사의 수정피드백 유형 그리고 교사의 수정피드백에 따른 다문화 가정 유아의 발화오류 수정 양상을 조사하는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 어린이집 만 3세 학급에 재원 중인 다문화 가정 유아 8명이다. 유아들이 참여한 그림책 읽기, 조형활동, 과학활동 등을 총 29회 그리고 총 1,015분에 걸쳐 관찰 및 녹화하였다. 녹화된 유아와 교사와의 상호작용을 모두 전사한 후 유아의 발화오류, 교사의 수정피드백 및 유아의 오류 수정 양상을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 다문화 가정 유아의 발화오류는 문법, 어휘, 발음, 기타, 맥락해석 오류로 나타났다. 유아의 발화오류에 대한 교사의 수정피드백은 고쳐 말하기, 명료화, 유도, 명시적 수정, 반복피드백으로 나타났다. 유아의 발화오류 수정에 가장 효과적인 교사의 수정피드백은 명시적 수정피드백으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 다문화 가정 유아의 발화오류에 대한 이해 그리고 적절한 지도 방안 마련을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the oral errors of preschool children from multicultural families, the types of corrective feedback provided by teachers and their relationship to learner uptake and immediate repair of the errors. The subjects of this study were 8 children aged 3 years from multicultural families in Seoul. The database consists of 1,015 minutes of classroom interaction between two teachers and eight children participating in various classroom activities such as picture book reading, arts and science activities. The results of the study are as follows. First, the most common speech errors were grammatical errors, vocabulary errors, phonological errors, other errors such as code-switching. Second, recast was by far the most frequently used technique in the database and the next most frequently occurring feedback types in the present study were clarification requests, elicitation, explicit corrective feedback and repetition. Third, the most effective corrective feedback that involves contributing to learner uptake was explicit corrective feedback. The findings of this study are expected to help preschool teachers to better understand language learning difficulties of young children from multi-cultural families by revealing language learning errors and effective corrective feedback techniques that lead to learner uptake and repair.
