아버지와 유아기 자녀의 거친 신체놀이의 의미 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 가정에서 이루어지는 아버지와 유아기 자녀의 거친 신체놀이를 관찰하고, 아버지와 유아기 자녀를 면담하여 아버지와 유아기 자녀의 거친 신체놀이의 의미를 탐구해보고자 실시되었다. 이를 위해 현재 유아기 자녀를 양육하고 있는 아버지 5인과 그 자녀인 유아를 연구 참여자로 선정하여 2019년 11월부터 2020년 9월까지 참여관찰, 면담, 사진 및 영상 촬영, 전화 통화 및 SNS 대화 등의 방법을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 이후 모든 자료는 전사하여 ‘전사, 코딩, 주제 발견’의 과정을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 아버지와의 거친 신체놀이는 유아기 자녀에게 ‘아버지를 통제해보는 즐거운 시간, 구속되지 않는 상상력 표현의 장, 아버지와 친밀해지는 시간, 놀이기술의 배움터’라는 의미를 주었다. 또한 유아기 자녀와의 거친 신체놀이는 아버지에게 ‘본능에 따른 자연스러운 놀이, 자녀와 유대감을 형성하는 시간, 놀이하는 아버지로서의 성장 과정’이라는 의미를 주는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to observe rough-and-tumble play between fathers and young children at home and to explore the meaning of rough-and-tumble play by interviewing fathers and their children. To this end, five fathers and their children who are currently raising their children were selected as research participants, and data were collected through participation observation, interviews, photographs and video shoots, telephone calls and SNS conversations from November 2019 to September 2020. All data were transcribed and analyzed through the process of ‘transcript, coding, and topic discovery.’. As a result, it was found that, rough-and-tumble play with their fathers gave meaning to the children as ‘a pleasant time to control their fathers, a field of unconstrained imagination, a time to be intimate with their fathers, and a learning place for play skills.’. Additionally, rough-and-tumble play with their children gave meaning to the fathers as ‘natural play according to instinct, a time to bond with their children, and a growth process as a playful father.’.
