어머니의 애정적 태도와 유아의 인지능력관계에서 자아개념과 정서지능의 매개효과 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아의 인지능력에 영향을 미치는 관련 변인에 대한 이론적 근거를 바탕으로 유아의 인지능력과 어머니의 애정적 태도, 유아의 자아개념, 정서지능 간의 구조적 관계를 밝히고, 어머니의 애정적 태도가 유아의 인지능력에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 자아개념과 정서지능의 매개효과는 어떠한지 살펴보았다. 전라북도 익산지역 유치원에 재원중인 만 5세 유아와 그들의 어머니 212쌍을 대상으로 어머니 애정적 태도, 유아의 자아개념, 정서지능, 인지능력을 조사하여 구조모형 분석을 하였다. 연구 결과, 어머니의 애정적 태도는 인지능력에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 자아개념과 정서지능은 인지능력에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 어머니의 애정적 태도는 자아개념을 매개로 하여, 또 정서지능을 매개로 하여 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 유아 인지능력 발달을 위한 부모-자녀 관계에 대한 시사점을 제시하고, 후속연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

This study revealed structural relationships between young children's cognitive ability and mother's affectionate child-rearing attitudes, and the self-concept and emotional intelligence of children, and investigated the mediating effect of elf-concept and emotional intelligence of children in the process of how mother's affectionate child-rearing affect children's cognitive abilities, based on theoretical bases about related variables which have influence on children's cognitive ability. We took 212 5 year old children and their mothers attending kindergartens in Northern Jeolla Province as the subjects, and studied the mothers' affectionate child-rearing attitudes, self-concept, emotional intelligence and the cognitive ability of the children, and analyzed its structural model. Results, showed that the mothers' affectionate child-rearing attitudes did not have a direct effect on the cognitive ability. However, self-concept and emotional intelligence had a direct impact on cognitive ability. But mother's affectionate child-rearing attitudes had an indirect impact on the self-concept and emotional intelligence as a matter of mediation. Based on these findings, we presented suggestions regarding the relationship between mother and children for the development of the children's cognitive ability, as well as for a follow-up study.
