그림책 중심 문학교육의 실시 과정에서 나타난 유아교사의 문학교육에 대한 인식의 변화

국문 초록

본 연구는 그림책 중심의 문학교육을 실시하는 과정에서 나타난 유아교사의 문학교육에 대한 인식의 변화를 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 대상은 만 5세 유아반 교사 2명이었고, 교사들에게 일어나는 변화를 파악하기 위해 교사들이 작성한 교육계획안과 교사 저널, 교사와의 면담 자료, 수업 관찰 기록, 면담자의 일지를 수집하였고, 이를 유아교사의 문학교육에 대한 관점 및 문학 수업의 실제 측면에서 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 그림책 중심의 문학교육을 실시하면서 유아교사는 문학교육을 다른 교육내용과는 별도의 독립적인 교육내용으로 인식하게 되었고, 문학교육이 결과보다는 과정 중심의 교육내용임을 인식하게 되었다. 또한, 유아교사는 이전보다 그림책의 특징을 고려한 수업, 교사 자신의 감상이 기여하는 수업, 역동적인 수업, 활발한 상호작용의 수업을 하게 되었다. 그 동안 그림책은 유아교육에서 다양하게 활용되었지만 정작 그림책이 갖고 있는 문학적 예술성을 위해 활용되는 데는 미흡하였다. 본 연구는 그림책 중심의 문학교육이 유아교사에게 그림책의 문학적 예술성을 일깨우고, 독자적인 교육 영역으로서의 문학교육에 대한 관점과 수업 실제에 대한 새로운 시각을 제공할 수 있다는 사실을 밝혀냈다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study is to investigate change in early childhood teachers' recognition of literature education observed in the process of picturebook based literature education. The subjects in this study were two early childhood teachers of 5-year old children classes. To analyze the change in their recognition of literature education in the process, their teaching plans and teacher journals, interview reports of them, observation records of their teaching, and interviewers' journals were collected and analyzed in terms of their views on literature education and teaching practice of literature education. It was found from this study that after the process, they recognize literature education as a separate curriculum different from other curricula and realize that literature education is a process-oriented curriculum rather than a result-oriented curriculum. After the picturebook based literature education was practiced, early childhood teachers encouraged more participation of children and their classes became more interactive, flexible and dynamic than before. Picturebooks have been utilized in various context but their usage as literature itself was limited. In this respect, the main contribution of this research is to show that the picturebook literature based education enlightens the teachers on literary sensitivity and provides them a new perspective on literature education as a separate curriculum and also different teaching practice of literature education.
