국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 저학년 발달성 난독증 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 일상에서의 경험과 어려움을 탐색하고, 적절한 지원방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해, 서울시와 경기도, 경남에 거주하며 발달성 난독증으로 진단받거나 의심된다는 전문가의 소견을 받은 초등학교 저학년(1학년 3명, 2학년 3명) 자녀를 둔 어머니 6명을 대상으로 포토보이스 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 어머니들은 센터 및 기관에서의 난독증 중재 중심 생활에 피곤함을 호소하면서도, 중재를 통해 아동의 개선된 모습을 보며 희망을 느꼈다. 둘째, 어머니들은 지속적인 시행착오를 경험하고 심리적 좌절을 느끼면서도, 가정에서 아동의 문해력 향상을 위해 반복적이고 지속적인 문해 상호작용을 제공하였다. 셋째, 난독증 아동에 대한 지원으로, 읽기 중재 전문가의 부족현상 해소, 읽기 부진에 대한 학교와 교사의 인식 개선, 난독증 진단 전문 기관의 증설을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 발달성 난독증 자녀를 둔 어머니의 일상 속 경험과 요구를 살펴봄으로써, 중재 대상의 특성을 반영한 구체적이고 실효성 높은 지원 방향을 논의하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the daily experiences and challenges of primary school children with developmental dyslexia, aiming to identify appropriate support measures. A photovoice study was conducted with six mothers from Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Gyeongnam, each with a child in the first or second grade. The findings reveal that mothers experience significant fatigue from managing a dyslexia-focused lifestyle but also feel hopeful upon observing their children's progress through interventions. Despite facing continuous trials, errors, and psychological frustration, mothers persistently engage in consistent literacy interactions and guidance at home. To enhance support for children with dyslexia, mothers suggest increasing the number of reading intervention specialists, improving dyslexia awareness among educators, and expanding access to specialized diagnostic and support clinics for developmental dyslexia. This study highlights the need for specific and effective support measures by examining the unique daily experiences and needs of mothers of children with developmental dyslexia.
