발굴유물 고밀도 전시의 성과와 의미

국문 초록

2010년 이후 발굴유물의 고밀도 전시가 확산되면서 국내 박물관 전시의 주요한 트렌드로 자리 잡았다. 이 논문은 최근 10여 년 동안 전개된 발굴유물 고밀도 전시의 흐름과 특징, 성과와 의미 등을 고찰 했다. 이를 위해 2010년 이후 지금까지 진행된 대규모의 발굴유물 특별전 10건을 비롯해 모두 14건의 전시를 분석했다. 그 결과, 발굴유물 고밀도 전시는 점점 확산되면서 창의적인 방식으로 심화되고 있음을 확인했다. 또한 ① 전시 방식의 변화 ② 유물에 대한 이해 ③ 수용자와의 관계의 측면에서 그 효과와 의미를 살펴보았다. 고밀도 전시는 전시장을 수장고 형식으로 꾸미고 발굴 당시 상황을 재현하는 등 기존에 볼 수 없었던 전시 방식을 보여주었다. 이러한 낯선 전시 방식은 전시 콘텐츠와 관람 내용의 변화를 가져왔다. 발굴유물을 새롭게 만나고 원래의 의미와 맥락을 이해하는 기회를 제공한 것이다. 이러한 시도는 발굴유물의 의미를 관람객과 깊이 있게 공유하는 과정이었다. 요약하면, 고밀도 전시는 ‘유물의 개방과 공유’, ‘전시에 대한 인식의 전환과 성찰’을 현장에서 구현한 새로운 전시 방식이라고 평가할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Since 2010, high-density exhibitions of excavated artifacts have spread, making it a major trend in domestic museum exhibitions. This paper attempted to examine the flow, characteristics, achievements, and meanings of high-density exhibitions of excavated artifacts developed over the past decade. To this end, a total of 14 exhibitions were analyzed, including 10 large-scale special exhibitions of excavated artifacts that have been held since 2010. As a result of examining the flow, it was confirmed that the high-density exhibition of excavated artifacts is gradually spreading and intensifying in a creative way at the same time. In addition, the effects and meanings of high-density exhibitions were examined in terms of ① drastic changes in the exhibition method ② rediscovery of artifacts and restoration of context ③ communication with audiences. First, high-density exhibitions brought innovation in the way of exhibition. Second, it was an opportunity to reflect on the original context and meaning of the representative artifacts. Third, these attempts began with the intention of sharing the meaning of excavation artifacts in depth with visitors. Therefore, a high-density exhibition is an exhibition that embodies active communication with audiences(viewers).
