한국과 프랑스의 유아수학교육과정 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국과 프랑스의 유아교육과정상에서 다뤄지는 수학 교과 영역의 내용을 비교하 여 우리나라의 유아수학교육과정의 특성을 파악하고 시사점을 제시하고자 수행되었다. 이 를 위해 양국의 유아교육과정의 문서에서 나타나는 수학교육 내용을 목표와 내용을 중심으 로 분석하는 문헌 연구를 하였다. 첫째, 양국의 유아수학교육 목표를 비교한 결과, 한국은 탐구과정에서의 태도 형성을, 프랑스는 지식의 습득을 보다 강조하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘 째, 유아수학교육의 내용에 대해서는 한국은 수학 교과의 5가지 하위 내용을 고루 다루고 있었으나 각 영역의 핵심 교과 내용의 의미가 유아의 경험을 중심으로 간략하게 제시되어 있었으며 ‘수와 연산’ 영역에는 누락된 내용이 많았다. 이에 반해 프랑스는 수학 교과의 5가 지 하위 내용을 편중되게 다루고 있었으나 핵심 교과 내용을 보다 학문적으로 제시하고 있 었고 특히 ‘수와 연산’ 영역을 주요하게 다루고 있었다. 아울러 한국과 달리 프랑스의 유아 수학교육과정에서는 일반적인 유아의 연령별 수학 개념 발달 경향과 그에 따른 교사의 지 원과 함께 수학교육에 대한 성취 기준도 제시되어 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 한 국의 유아수학교육의 발전을 위해 유아교육과정상에서 보완될 필요가 있는 수학교육의 목표와 내용에 대해 논하였다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to identify the characteristics of Korea s early childhood math curriculum and to present implications by comparing the contents of the mathematics curriculum in France. To this end, a literature study was conducted to analyze the mathematics field appearing in the documents of the early childhood curriculum, focusing on goals and contents. First, as a result of comparing the goals of early childhood math education, it was found that Korea emphasized the acquisition of attitudes in the exploration process and France emphasized the acquisition of knowledge. Second, as for the contents of early childhood mathematics education, Korea dealt with five sub-contents of mathematics subjects evenly, but the meaning of the core curriculum in each area was briefly presented centering on the experience of children, and there were many missing contents in the ‘number and computation’ area. On the other hand, France dealt with five sub-contents in an unequal way, but presented the core curriculum more academically, and in particular, the area of ‘number and computation’ was mainly dealt with. In addition, France s early childhood curriculum presented the general trend of developing mathematics concepts by age and the support of teachers accordingly. Based on these research results, the goals and contents of early childhood math curriculum that need to be supplemented were discussed for the development of early childhood mathematics education in Korea.
