융합인재교육(STEAM) 관점에서 미술교과의 공감각(Synesthesia) 교육에 대한 논의

국문 초록

본고에서는 ‘공감각’이란 용어가 미술과 교육과정에서 사용된 것이 지각 활동과 융합적 사고력 강화와 관계 된다는 전제 아래 미술교과에서의 ’공감각‘ 활동의 의미를 뇌과학과, 미학, 융합교육관점에서 논의 했다. 공감각 교육을 인간의 뇌를 보다 생산적으로 사용하도록 하는, 즉 뇌의 활성화 교육 측면에서 논의 하고, 다중 감각의 융합에의한, 즉 감각의 전이와 소통을 유도하는 공감각 미술품의 표현과 감상활동을 중심으로 논의 했다. 이러한 논의가 필요한 것은 공감각자들이 과학자와 예술가들에게서 많이 발견된다는 사실과 공감각자들이 높은 창의력을 요구하는 분야에 종사할 확률이 매우 높다는 사실 때문이다. 미래인재교육을 위한 융합인재교육이 강조되고 있는 현행교육에서 뇌 과학 이론과 미술 이론을 근거로 공감각을 해석하는 것은 미술교과측면에서 융합인재교육에서 미술교과 역할의 중요성을 설명하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 미래인재교육을 위한 융합인재교육 관점에서 미술교과에서 공감각적 경험, 공감각적 생각과 공감각적 표현 활동이 어떻게 해석되어야 하는가를 밝힘으로서 융합인재교육으로서의 미술교과의 교육적 가치를 논의하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The experiencing sector of revised curriculum of art education of 2009 is consisted of ‘perceptioin’ and ‘communication’. The standard accomplishment according to this has been suggested as ‘To explore natural objects and artifacts using various sense’. Related activities to this include ‘To explore an object using five senses’, ‘To notice an object with synesthesia and discuss its feelings’. In the aspects of activating a brain, ‘synesthesia’ being related to sense in art curriculum can be discussed. Also, it could be examined in the aspects of synesthesia art field with the perspective of metastasis and communication of sense. The reason why such debate is necessary is because numerous ‘synesthesia people’ are found in scientists and artists. Moreover,it is highly probable for ‘synesthesia people’ to engage in a field which requires an outstanding level of creativity. We are now living in an era which stresses so much on STEAM. Thus, an interpretation of synesthesia on the grounds of theories of art and brain-science is essential. Along with this, suggesting specific ways to put this into action would enable novel perception of educational significance of synesthesia activities. Thus,throughout this study, I will reveal how synesthesian experience, thoughts and expression should be analyzed from STEAM’s viewpoint.
