국문 초록

지역사회의 삶의 맥락 속에서 학생들의 경험과 학습이 어우러지는 방향으로 교육과정이 개정되면서 지역사회 연계 미술교육에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 하지만 박물관, 미술관 등의 지역사회 자원 연계에 치중되어 있거나, 산출물 중심의 단편적 활동에 그쳐 학생들의 실질적인 지역문화 참여 기회가 다소 부족하다. 또한 문화유산은 지역문화정체성 함양과 지역문화 참여 기회를 제공할 수 있어 교육적 가치가 높음에도 불구하고, 유의미하게 활용되지 못하고 있다. 지역성, 참여성, 예술성, 확장성의 특성을 가진 문화유산은 맥락적, 참여적, 개방적 성격을 띠는 지역사회 연계 미술교육에서의 활용 가치가 높고, 지역사회와 문화유산 간의 교육적 결합을 통해 교육효과를 증대할 수 있다. 이에 따라 지역문화정체성을 확립하고, 지역문화 참여를 증진하며 지역문화공동체를 활성화할 수 있도록 문화유산을 활용한 지역사회 연계 미술교육을 제안하였다. 문화유산을 활용한 지역사회에 대한 미술교육, 지역사회를 위한 미술교육, 지역사회를 통한 미술교육은 지역문화 이해, 탐방, 참여, 확장의 4단계에 걸쳐 이뤄지게 된다. 이와 같이 문화유산을 활용한 지역사회 연계 미술교육의 설계에 따라 한성백제문화유산을 중심으로 프로그램을 개발하여 서울○○초등학교 4~6학년 학생들을 대상으로 사례 연구를 실시한 결과 역사문화적 가치 내면화를 통한 지역문화정체성 확립, 실제적 문화유산 향유와 지역문화 참여 증진, 문화유산을 중심으로 한 지역공동체 소통 활성화의 효과를 살펴볼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This thesis delves into how to use the cultural heritages in the community-based art education. As the national curriculum was revised to combine learning and students experience within the community, the interest in community-based art education is being grown. However, it is hard to say that students authentic cultural participation is achieved by considering only how to link the community resources or by focusing on creating community artworks through fragmentary art activities. In addition, cultural heritages, which have high educational values for fostering cultural identity and providing opportunities for participation in community, have not been meaningfully utilized. Cultural heritages have characteristics of locality, participatory, artistic quality, and extensibility, so that it can be used in community-based art education, which has contextual relevance, participatory action, and openness to the community. I suggest community-based art education using cultural heritages to establish cultural identity, promote students’ cultural participation in the community, and activate the communities. Through using the cultural heritages, art education about the community, for the community, and through the community are take place in four stages: understanding, exploring, participating, and expanding community culture. A case study focusing on Hanseong Baekje cultural heritages at one elementary school in Seoul showed that community-based art education using cultural heritages has several effects on students and community; 1) establishing cultural identity through internalization of historical and cultural values, 2) enhancing authentic experience on cultural heritage and participation in community culture, and 3) activating the communication among the local community centered on cultural heritages.
