공업계고등학교 전문교과 교사들이 인식하는 학생들의 직업기초능력 수준

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 공업계고등학교에서 전문교과를 담당하는 교사들이 인식하는 공업계고등학교 학생들의 직업기초능력 수준을 조사분석하는데 있다. 연구를 위한 표본은 전국의 공업계고등학교에서 전문교과를 담당하는 교사들을 지역별(대도시, 중소도시, 군 이하 지역), 계열별(전기전자통신 계열, 기계금속 계열, 건설 계열)로 분류하고 각 지역의 계열별로 3개교 씩 총 27개교를 군집 표집하였다. 조사 도구의 개발은 국내외의 직업기초능력에 대한 연구 사례를 종합하고 전문가의 협의를 거쳐 8개 영역, 34개 능력으로 구성된 직업기초능력을 마련하였다. 조사 도구인 설문지는 총 324부를 배부하여 242(74.7%)를 최종 분석에 이용하였고, 통계 분석으로는 기술통계, F-검증 등을 사용하였고 사후검증으로 Scheffe 검증을 실시하였다. 연구의 주요 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 공업계고등학교에서 전문교과를 담당하는 교사들은 공업계고등학교 학생들의 직업기초능력 수준으로 8개 영역 중 기술 능력 영역을 가장 높은 수준으로 보았다. 둘째, 계열별에 따른 공업계고등학교 전문교과 교사들의 인식에서는 전기전자통신 계열의 교사들이 다른 계열의 교사들보다 학생들의 직업기초능력 수준에 대한 인식치가 높았다. 셋째, 공업계고등학교의 소재지에 따른 전문교과 교사들의 인식에서는 대도시 소재 학교의 교사들이 타지역 소재 학교의 교사들보다 학생들의 직업기초능력 수준에 대한 인식치가 높았다. 연구의 전반적인 결과를 통해 공업계고등학교에서 전문교과를 담당하는 교사들이 인식하는 공업계고등학교 학생들의 직업기초능력 수준은 모든 영역과 하위 요소에서 보통 이하의 수준에 분포되어 있으므로 공업계고등학교 학생들의 직업기초능력을 향상시키기 위한 노력이 절실하다고 할 수 있다. 이를 위해 기존의 교과에 포함되어있는 직업기초능력 수준을 학생들의 이해 수준에 맞추고, 다양한 교수-학습 방법을 활용하기 위한 프로그램의 개발과 체험에 의한 직업기초능력의 습득과 신장이 이루어지도록 행재정적 지원이 필요하다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper was to analyze how the specialized subjects teachers of industrial high schools recognize the level of their students key competencies. Therefore, we employed cluster sampling with stratification to classify the population of the teachers in charge of specialized subjects of industrial high schools. We also classified it by field, that was, the field of electricity, electronics and communication, the field of machine and metal, and the field of construction. Through this classification, it had made the samples consisting of 27 high schools. For this study, key competencies consisting of 34 factors under 8 areas were determined. Total 324 copies of the questionnaire had been distributed, 242 of which were used for analysis. Descriptive statistics and F-test were used for statistical analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: First, the level of the students key competencies that the specialized subjects teachers of industrial high schools recognize was found average or lower (3.0) in all the fields. Second, the teachers in the field of electricity, electronics and communication evaluated their students key competencies higher than those in the other fields. Third, the teachers working in large cities evaluated their students key competencies higher than those working in other regions. The above results show the level of the students key competencies that is recognized by the teachers is different, depending on the variables, but in general, it was distributed between 2 points (low) and 3 (average). It suggests that industrial high school students, who are facing the rapidly changing job world as preliminary workers, should make a lot of efforts to improve their key competencies.
