니체의 아곤과 아렌트의 세계사랑 - 자기극복에서 관계적 책임교육으로의 전환

국문 초록

오늘날 교육은 개인주의적 자율성과 성과 중심 정책의 영향 아래 도구화되고, 인간의 존재 조건과 세계와의 관계 맺음을 간과한 채 효율성의 논리에 종속되고 있다. 이러한 교육의 위기 속에서, 본 연구는 교육의 실존적 전환 가능성을 탐구하기 위해 ‘의지(will)’와 ‘아곤(Agon)’ 개념을 중심으로 한 철학적 분석을 시도한다. 먼저 플라톤, 아리스토텔레스, 아우구스티누스, 아퀴나스를 거쳐 형성된 전통적 의지 개념의 세부 계보를 직접적으로 다루기보다, 니체가‘힘에의 의지(Wille zur Macht)’와 ‘아곤’ 개념을 통해 인간을 자기극복과 가치 창조의 주체로 재해석한 사유를 고찰한다. 또한 아렌트의 『정신의 삶: 의지』를 중심으로, 니체의 아곤이 타자성과 공적 책임을 결여한 한계를 지닌다는 비판과 함께, 이를 ‘탄생적 의지(natal willing)’와 ‘복수성(plurality)’ 개념을 토대로 관계적·책임적 장으로 재구성하는 과정을 분석한다. 아렌트의 이러한 전환은 교육을 단순한 지식 전달이 아닌, 새롭게 태어난 존재가 세계에 등장하고 책임 있는관계를 형성하는 실천으로 재정립한다. 본 연구는 궁극적으로 아렌트의 사유를통해, 경쟁과 우월성 추구를 넘어 세계사랑(amor mundi)과 책임의 윤리를 기반으로 한 교육철학의 새로운 가능성을 제시한다.

영문 초록

Contemporary education has been instrumentalized under the influence of individualistic autonomy and performance-oriented policies, becoming subordinated to the logic of efficiency while neglecting the human condition and the relational engagement with the world. In response to this crisis, the present study explores the possibility of an existential transformation of education through a philosophical analysis centered on the concepts of “will” and “agon.” This paper focuses on Nietzsche’s reinterpretation of the human being as a subject of self-overcoming and value creation through the concepts of the “will to power (Wille zur Macht)” and “agon.” Furthermore, drawing on Arendt’s The Life of the Mind: Willing, it examines her critique that Nietzsche’s agon lacks otherness and public responsibility, and analyzes how she reconstructs it into a relational and responsible arena on the basis of “natal willing” and “plurality.” This Arendtian transformation redefines education not as a mere transmission of knowledge but as a practice through which new beings appear in the world and form responsible relationships. Ultimately, the study proposes, through Arendt’s thought, a new horizon of educational philosophy grounded in‘amor mundi’ and the ethics of responsibility, transcending competition and the pursuit of superiority.
