순자의 교육사상 연구-아동인성교육을 중심으로

국문 초록

연구목적: 오늘날 우리사회는 그 어느 때보다 실천적 인성교육의 필요성을 느끼고 있다. 따라서 인간의 악한 본성은 교육을 통하여 선하게 변화시킬 수 있다고 주장한 순자의 교육사상을 연구하여 우리 현실에 적용하고자 한다. 순자의 교육사상에 대한 선행연구들은 대체로 인성교육의 내용을 교육주체들에게 적용한 점이 부족했다. 이를 보완하기 위해서 순자의 인성교육의 내용을 아동, 부모, 교사에게 적용하여 시사점을 모색하고자 한다. 연구방법: 순자의 유일한 저서인 ｢순자｣를 기본으로 연구하였으며, 순자의 핵심 사상이 되는 천관론, 성악론, 예의론을 중심으로 서술하였다. 그리고 번역서 및 선행 연구와 단행 본을 문헌연구 했다. 연구결과: 가정과 학교에서는 인간의 본성이 악하기 때문에 예의 교육을 실천하여 학교 폭력을 예방해야 한다. 그리고 교사는 아동의 행동을 선한 방향으로 안내하는 역할과 권위 회복을 위한 노력을 해야 한다. 정부는 지식 위주의 입시 정책에서 벗어나 건전한 인성을 갖춘 사람을 길러내는 교육 정책으로 전환해야 한다. 그리고 아동의 흥미와 적성에 맞는 창의융합 평생교육 프로그램을 제공해야 한다. 연구결론: 순자의 인성교육을 분석하여 부모, 교사, 학생들에게 적용하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가정에서 부모의 모범을 통한 인성교육이 강화되어야 한다. 둘째, 학교에서 폭력예 방을 위한 인간존중 교육을 강화해야 한다. 셋째, 입시위주의 교육정책을 개혁하여 실천위주의 인성교육을 강화해야 한다. 넷째, 가정과 학교와 사회는 학생들이 선하 게 살아갈 수 있는 교육적 환경을 조성해야 한다. 다섯째, 교사는 지적 권위와 도덕 적 권위를 겸비하기 위한 지속적인 연구와 자기수양에 전념해야 한다. 여섯째, 교사 의 권위를 인정하고 존중하는 사회적 분위기 조성이 필요하다. 일곱째, 학생들이 쉽 게 인성교육을 이해할 수 있도록 실제 사례와 비유법을 통해 가르쳐야 한다. 여덟 째, 전 생애 주기에 맞는 평생교육 체계를 구축해야 한다.

영문 초록

Purpose:Today, our society feels the need for practical character education more than ever. Therefore, this study seeks to examine Xunzi’s educational thought, which asserts that human beings’ inherently evil nature can be transformed into goodness through education, and to explore its application to our current reality. Previous studies on Xunzi’s educational philosophy have generally lacked in applying the content of his character education to specific educational agents. To address this gap, this study aims to apply Xunzi’s principles of character education to children, parents, and teachers, in order to derive meaningful implications. Methods:The study was based primarily on Xunzi's only work, “Xunzi,” and focused on his core philosophies: the Theory of Heaven, the Theory of the Evil Nature of Humanity, and the Theory of Rites and Morality. In addition, translated editions, previous studies, and monographs were reviewed through a literature-based approach. Results:Since human nature is inherently evil, homes and schools should implement moral education to prevent school violence. Teachers should guide children's behavior in a benevolent direction and strive to restore their authority. The government should shift away from knowledge-centered entrance examination policies toward educational policies that cultivate individuals with sound character. In addition, creative-convergence lifelong education programs that help children explore careers aligned with their interests and aptitudes should be provided. Conclusion: An analysis of Xunzi’s characterl education and its application to parents, teachers, and students can be summarized as follows. First, character education through parental role modeling at home should be strengthened. Second, schools should reinforce education that respects human dignity to prevent violence. Third, education policy focused on college entrance should be reformed to strengthen practice-oriented character education. Fourth, homes, schools, and society must create an educational environment where students can live virtuously. Fifth, teachers should dedicate themselves to continuous self-cultivation and research to possess both intellectual and moral authority. Sixth, a social atmosphere that recognizes and respects teacher authority should be fostered. Seventh, character education should be taught through real-life examples and analogies that students can easily understand it. Eighth, a lifelong education system tailored to each stage of the life cycle should be established.
