영유아생태교육 수업에 참여한 예비보육교사의 동식물 돌봄이 교수효능감과 교직윤리에 미치는 효과 및 의미

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 예비보육교사가 영유아생태교육 과정에서 동식물 돌봄을 직접 경험함으 로써 교수효능감과 교직인성에 어떠한 변화를 보이는지 분석하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 연구 대상은 경기도 소재 K대학교 전공심화과정에 재학 중이며 어린이집에서 보조 교사 근무중인 4학년 예비보육교사 7명이다. 이들은 16주 동안 ‘영유아생태교육’ 교 과목 수업에서 중점적으로 동식물 돌봄을 수행하였으며, 사전·사후 교수효능감 검 사를 통해 양적 변화를, 보고서·성찰 저널·교육계획안·면담 자료를 바탕으로 질 적 변화를 분석하였다. 양적 분석은 SPSS 30.0을 활용하여 기술통계 및 윌콕슨 부호 순위 검정을 실시하였고, 질적 분석은 Krippendorff(2004)의 내용분석 절차에 따라 수 행하였다. 연구결과: 연구 결과 동식물 돌봄 경험으로 예비보육교사의 환경구성 및 일과운영, 생활지도, 교수-학습방법 등 모든 측면에서 교수효능감이 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 교직인성 또한 최우선의 목표를 영유아에게 유익함으로 하였고, 영유아가 원하는 것, 함께 돌보는 협력관계, 돌봄의 방법 등 동식물 돌봄과 영유아에 관한 존재론적 고찰을 보였다. 연구결론: 본 연구는 예비보육교사의 교직 전문성을 통합적으로 함양하기 위한 생태교육의 실 천 기반 교육 전략의 필요성을 제기하였으며, 향후 생태교육과 보육 역량을 연결하 는 교육과정 설계의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze how pre-service childcare teachers’ direct experiences in caring for plants and animals during an early childhood ecological education influence changes in their teaching efficacy and professional character. Methods: The participants of this study were seven fourth-year pre-service childcare teachers enrolled in an advanced major course at K University, who were also working as assistant teachers at childcare centers. Over a 16-week period, they engaged in animal and plant caregiving activities as part of the “Early Childhood Ecological Education” course. Quantitative changes were measured through pre-and post-tests on teaching efficacy, while qualitative changes were analyzed based on reports, reflective journals, lesson plans, and interview data. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test via SPSS 30.0, while qualitative data were examined through Krippendorff’s (2004) content analysis method. Results: The results of the study showed that experience of caring for plants and animals significantly improved pre-service childcare teachers’ teaching efficacy across all areas, including environment organization, daily routines management, behavior guidance, and instructional methods. Their professional character prioritized the benefit of young children and reflected on plant and animal care in relation to children’s needs, collaborative care, and caregiving methods. Conclusion: These findings underscore the importance of practice-based ecological education strategies to holistically foster the professional competencies of pre-service childcare teachers and provide foundational data for developing future curricula that integrate ecological education with childcare competencies.
