국문 초록

16세기에도 조선은 효행 장려책을 이어 지속적으로 효행을 권장하였다. 16세기에 효문화와 관련된 사림문화는 이러한 분위기를 더욱 고조하였다. 조선 조정은 효자 열부 충신에 대한 정려를 내리는 외에도 다양한 방법으로 효치를 시행하여 효행을 장려했다. 16세기 초 중종대에 시행한 효치는 사대부들이 삼년상(三年喪)과 시묘(侍墓)를 확대해 가고, 일반 양민과 노비들도 삼년상과 시묘를 행하는 경우가 늘어났다. 또한 효를 행하는 범위는 부모 봉양을 넘어 가족 전체에 대한 우애 관계로 확대해 갔다. 조선 시대 조정과 사대부들은 효치를 중시하면서, 먼저 임금의 효의식과 효행을 강조했다. 또한 삼강오륜을 권장하기 위해 남녀, 신분 등 차별 없이 충신·효자·열녀가 사는 마을 입구나 대문 앞에 정문을 내렸다. 조정은 그들에게 정표(旌表)하고 복호(復戶)하여 그 집의 조세와 요역을 면제하고, 천민에게는 상물(賞物)을 하사했다. 효행자로서 현직 관료에게는 자급(資級)을 올려주고 과거에 급제하지 않은 진사ㆍ생원에게는 상직(賞職)을 내려 관리로 임용하기도 했다. 또한 조선 조정은 고위 관직자는 물론 일반 병사ㆍ공노에게도 효 장려를 위한 제도로서 귀양(歸養)을 허용했다.

영문 초록

Even in the 16th century, Joseon continued to implement a policy of encouraging filial piety. In the 16th century, the Sarim culture related to filial piety heightened this atmosphere. The Joseon Dynasty ruled out the loyalty of filial piety and promoted filial piety by implementing filial piety in various ways. The Sarim expanded their three-year parents funeral and taking care of his parents graves. Ordinary civilians and slaves also performed three-year mourning. In addition, the scope of filial piety expanded to friendship with the entire family. During the Joseon Dynasty, the intellectual officials first emphasized the filial piety of the king. In addition, the government created an honorary memorial gate in front of the entrance or gate of the village where loyalists, filial sons & daughters, and a lady of honor to her husband live without discrimination of gender or status. The government exempts them from taxes and work obligations, and gives gifts to the lowly people. Current officials raised their positions, and Jinsa and Sangwon were also appointed as officials. In addition, the government operated a local servant system to support of his parents not only for high-ranking officials but also for general soldiers and government slaves.
