Under the impetus of policies such as the New Era Basic Education Strong Teacher Program, music education in normal universities is undergoing a transformation towards the integration of “normality and academicity”. The cultivation of music teachers with both performance and teaching abilities has become an important goal. However, current ensemble teaching in normal universities faces problems such as disconnection from the needs of primary and secondary schools, the separation of technique and art, and an imbalance in the roles of teachers and students. Based on the theory of multiple intelligence, constructivist learning theory, and the principle of the unity of normality and academicity in normal university education, this study proposes and constructs a dual-track teaching model that features parallel technical training and artistic expression, as well as the collaborative roles of teachers and students. Through the integrated professional ability cultivation of the “technical-art track” and the immersive transfer of normal ability in the “teacher-student track”, this model has achieved an organic unity of performance ability improvement and normal quality cultivation in the teaching practice of works such as “Beethoven op.18” and “Moonlight Chasing Clouds”. Research shows that the dual-track teaching model can effectively break through the traditional teaching predicament and provide a new path for cultivating “performing and teaching capable” composite music teachers. However, it also faces challenges such as insufficient teacher ability and conflicts in class hour allocation during implementation. In the future, it can be further optimized by leveraging digital empowerment and cross-curriculum transfer.
