손자녀를 돌보는 노인의 양육스트레스와 우울의 관계에서 통제소재의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 손자녀를 돌보는 노인을 대상으로 이들의 양육스트레스가 우울에 미치는 효과와 함께 통제소재의 매개효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 손자녀를 돌보는 65세노인 30명을 대상으로 사전조사를 통해 설문지를 수정하였으며, 이후 유의표집을 통해 295부의 설문지를회수하여 연령과 고정반응 등 연구에 부적합한 7부를 제외한 288부가 최종 분석에 활용되었다. 손자녀를돌보는 노인의 양육스트레스가 우울에 미치는 효과와 통제소재의 매개효과 검증은 SPSS 통계프로그램과Amos를 활용한 구조방정식을 적용하였다. 주요 연구결과를 보면 손자녀를 돌보는 노인의 양육스트레스는우울과 통제소재의 하위요인인 내적통제요인과 외적통제요인에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 통제소재의 하위요인인 내적통제소재는 우울에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나 외적통제소재는 우울에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 통제소재의 하위요인 중 내적통제소재는 손자녀를돌보는 노인의 양육스트레스와 우울의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났으나 외적통제소재는 매개효과를 가지지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 손자녀를 돌보는 노인의 우울을 예방하고 낮추기 위한 사회복지 정책 및 실천적 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study was designed to verify the effect of parenting stress on depression and the mediating effect of locus of control in elderly carers of grandchildren. To achieve this research purpose, a questionnaire was revised through a preliminary survey targeting 30 elderly carers of 65 years of age. Afterwards, 295 questionnaires were collected through a deliberate sampling, and 288 questionnaires were used in the final analysis after excluding 7 questionnaires that were unsuitable for the study due to age and fixed response. The effect of parenting stress on depression in elderly carers of grandchildren and the mediating effect of locus of control were verified by applying the SPSS statistical program and structural equation modeling using Amos. The main research results showed that parenting stress in elderly carers of grandchildren had a significant effect on internal control factors and external control factors, which are sub-factors of depression and locus of control. In addition, internal locus of control, a subfactor of locus of control, was found to affect depression, but external locus of control did not affect depression. Finally, internal locus of control, a subfactor of locus of control, was found to mediate the relationship between parenting stress and depression in elderly people caring for their grandchildren, but external locus of control did not have a mediating effect. Based on these research results, social welfare policies and practical suggestions were presented to prevent and reduce depression in elderly people caring for their grandchildren.
