국문 초록

본 연구는 서이초교 사태에서 나타난 ‘학부모-교사간 충돌현상’이 전국적인 현상이라는 점에 착안하여, 공교육에 대한 교사와 학부모의 인식의 차이와 한국의 ‘압축적 개인화’라는 개념에 기반하여 탐구하였다. 첫째, 80년대생 학부모와 90년대생 교사의 ‘학부모 학교 참여’ 인식에서 공통점과 차이점을 살펴보았다. 80년대생 학부모와 90년대생 교사는 악성 민원의 특징이 공동체의 이익이 아니라, 자기 아이만 특별한 혜택을 받아야 한다는 요구라는 점에서 공교육의 인식에 대한 공통점이 있었으며, 학부모 학교참여에 대한 소통과 협력, 공론화의 방식에 대해서는 학부모는 적극성을 보였으며, 교사는 다소 소극적인 경향을 보였다. 둘째, 80년대생 학부모와 90년대생 교사 모두 학교현장에 대한 불안을 표현하였으며, 불안을 느끼는 요인을 탐구하여 주목할만한 차이를 확인하였다. 80년대생 학부모는 자녀의 미래에 대한 불안이 중요한 요인이었고, 90년대생 교사는 학교현장이 안전하지 못함에 대하여 자신의 생존에 대한 불안이 요인이었다. 본 연구는 학교현장에서 80년대생 학부모의 ‘자녀교육 불안’과 90년대생 교사들의 ’생존불안‘이 교육공동체 안에서 충돌로 나타날 수 있음을 밝히고, 학부모-교사간 갈등을 사회적이고 역사적인 관점에서 분석했다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to investigate the difference between teachers’ and parents’ perceptions of public education and the concept of “compressive personalization” in Korea based on the fact that the conflict between Seoi Elementary School parents and teachers is a nationwide phenomenon. The study investigated the conflict between parents who were born in the 1980s and teachers who were born in the 1990s from a social and historical perspective. First, the commonalities and differences between parents who were born in the 1980s and teachers who were born in the 1990s were examined. The results showed commonalities in these parents’ and teachers’ perception of public education as the characteristics of malicious complaints were not in the interest of the community but the demand that only their children should receive special benefits. Parents were active in communication, cooperation, and public debate on parents' participation in school, whereas teachers were somewhat passive. Second, both the parents who were born in the 1980s and the teachers who were born in the 1990s expressed anxiety about the school site, and a remarkable difference was confirmed in terms of factors influencing anxiety. Parents born in the 1980s were anxious about their children's future, whereas teachers born in the 1990s were anxious about their own survival because the school was not safe.
