노인교육적 관점에서 본 영상매체 활용 예술활동 프로그램의 적용과 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 인지장애 노인을 대상으로 영상매체를 활용한 예술활동 프로그램을 적용하고, 그 교육적 효과와 활용 가능성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구자가 제작한 영상자료는 유튜브 플랫폼을 통해 제공되었으며, 데이케어센터 내 TV를 활용하여 집단 시청 형식으로 운영되었다. 프로그램은 리더의 구두 안내, 음악 도입 활동, 시청각 자극 중심의 예술활동 등으로 구성되어, 노인의 인지 및 정서 기능을 자극하도록 설계되었다. 이러한 접근은 평생교육과 구성주의 학습이론에 기반을 두고 있으며, 학습자의 경험과 참여를 중심으로 하는 원리에 따라 감각 자극, 반복 학습, 자유로운 표현 활동으로 프로그램을 구성하였다. 이러한 활동은 언어 이해에 제한이 있는 인지장애 노인의 학습 접근성과 몰입을 촉진하고, 비형식 학습의 장점을 반영한 교육적 실천 사례로 볼 수 있다. 프로그램 참여 전후의 변화를 살펴보기 위해 단일집단 사전-사후 설계를 적용하고, 자기보고형 척도를 활용하여 인지기능, 우울, 불안의 변화를 측정하였다. 일부 참여자에게서 인지 기능 향상과 정서 안정 경향이 관찰되었으며, 참여자는 데이케어센터의 익숙하고 안정된 환경 속에서 구조화된 방식으로 프로그램에 참여하였다. 영상매체를 활용한 예술활동은 인지장애 노인의 교육 접근성과 인지 자극에 실질적으로 기여할 수 있으며, 특히 노인 돌봄 기관의 일상 프로그램으로 통합 가능한 현장 적용 가능성을 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the educational effects and practical applicability of an arts-based activity program using video media for older adults with cognitive impairment. The program was developed by the researcher and delivered via the YouTube platform, with sessions conducted in a group format using a TV at a day care center. Each session included verbal guidance by a facilitator, music-based introductions, and visual arts activities designed to support cognitive and emotional functions. This approach was grounded in lifelong education and constructivist learning theories, and the program was structured around sensory engagement, repeated learning, and nonverbal expressive activities. These elements were intended to enhance learning accessibility and immersion for older adults with limited language comprehension, serving as a practical example of informal, experience-centered education. To examine pre-post changes, a single-group design was employed, and self-report measures were used to assess cognitive function, depression, and anxiety. Improvements in cognitive and emotional functioning were observed in some participants. As regular users of a day care center, the participants engaged with the program in a familiar and structured environment. Arts-based activities delivered via video media can contribute meaningfully to cognitive and emotional stimulation in older adults with cognitive impairment and demonstrate strong potential for integration into routine, institution-led programs in geriatric care settings.
