국문 초록

본 연구는 2014년부터 2023년까지 국내에서 수행된 건강불평등 및 의료불평등 연구 동향분석을 목표로 한다. 건강불평등과 의료불평등은 상호 연관성이 크므로, 본 연구에서는 두 영역을 통합적으로 검토하였다. 연구방법으로는 학술연구정보서비스(RISS)에서 ‘건강불평등’, ‘의료불평등’ 등의 키워드로 검색된 544편의 논문을 대상으로 발행 연도, 학문 분야, 연구 대상, 연구방법론, 주요 연구 주제를 기준으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 2014년 37편이었던 연구가 2023년 72편으로 증가하여 건강불평등과 의료불평등에 대한 관심이 지속적으로 확대되고 있음을 확인하였다. 건강불평등 연구가 의료불평등 연구보다 활발하게 이루어졌다. 학문 분야별로는 사회과학(57.7%)에서 가장 많은 연구가 수행되었으며, 이어 의약학(20%), 복합학(8.8%), 인문학(4.2%) 순이었다. 연구 대상에서는 인간 대상 연구가 69.3%, 비인간 대상 연구가 30.7%를 차지하였다. 연구방법론에서는 양적 연구(65.4%)가 가장 많았으며, 문헌 연구(27.4%)가 그 뒤를 이었다. 연구 주제별로는 사회적 요인을 다룬 연구가 73.5%로 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였으며, 개인적 요인(19.7%)을 다룬 연구가 그 뒤를 이었다. 본 연구는 국내 건강불평등 연구의 흐름을 정리함으로써 향후 연구 방향을 제시하고, 보다 포괄적인 연구와 정책적 개입의 필요성을 강조한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze trends in research on health inequality and medical inequality conducted in South Korea from 2014 to 2023. Given the strong interrelation between health inequality and medical inequality, this study examines both areas comprehensively. For the research methodology, 544 academic papers were retrieved from the Research Information Sharing Service (RISS) using keywords such as “health inequality” and “medical inequality.” The selected papers were analyzed based on publication year, academic discipline, research subjects, research methodologies, and key research topics. The findings indicate that the number of studies increased from 37 in 2014 to 72 in 2023, demonstrating a growing academic interest in health and medical inequality. Research on health inequality was more prevalent than research on medical inequality. By discipline, the majority of studies were conducted in social sciences (57.7%), followed by medicine and health sciences (20%), interdisciplinary studies (8.8%), and humanities (4.2%). In terms of research subjects, human subject studies accounted for 69.3%, while non-human subject studies comprised 30.7%. Regarding research methodologies, quantitative studies were the most common (65.4%), followed by literature reviews (27.4%). The most frequently examined research topic was social determinants (73.5%), followed by individual factors (19.7%). This study provides an overview of research trends in health inequality in South Korea, offering insights into future research directions and emphasizing the need for more comprehensive studies and policy interventions.
