국문 초록

자폐스펙트럼 여성은 자신의 특성을 숨기거나 위장하는 능력이 발달하여 남성과는 다른 독특한 존재방식을 드러낸다. 이 연구의 목적은 자폐스펙트럼 여성의 신경다양성을 존재론적으로 해석하여 참여자의 실존과 존재방식을 이해하는 것이다. 이를 위해 성인기까지 진단을 받지 않은 자폐스펙트럼 여성과 그 어머니를 참여자로 선정하여 질적 연구 맥락에서 접근하였다. 연구 결과로는 먼저, 진단받지 않은 자폐스펙트럼 여성은 신경다양인과 신경전형인의 경계에서 비본래적 존재로 실존하고 있었다. 참여자가 본래적 존재로 실존하기 위해서는 자신의 자폐스펙트럼 특성을 신경다양성으로 받아들여야 한다는 것을 강조하였다. 다음으로, 자폐스펙트럼 여성은 공동체 내 사회적 관계 속에서 자신의 고유한 본질을 은폐하여 존재론적 소외와 불안을 경험하고 있었다. 인간은 본질적으로 ‘세계-내-존재’이자 ‘현-존재’이므로, 존재론적 차이로 나타나는 신경다양인의 존재방식을 존중하는 것이 존재론에서 주장하는 진리라는 것을 제시하였다. 신경다양성과 존재론은 이 세계에 존재하는 다양한 유형의 존재를 인정하고 그들의 고유한 존재방식을 존중하는 사회 문화를 조성하는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Women on the autism spectrum are frequently able to hide or camouflage their traits, creating a unique mode of being that is different from that of autistic men. To understand the existential and their mode of being aspects of life for participants by ontologically interpreting the neurodiversity among women on the autism spectrum, woman on the autism spectrum who were not diagnosed until adulthood and her mothers were selected as participants and studied in a qualitative research context. This study revealed that undiagnosed women on the autism spectrum projected an inauthentic persona on the border between neurodiverse and neurotypical people. Their quality of life indicates that individuals must accept their autism spectrum characteristics as neurodiversity to experience an authentic existence. Autistic spectrum women who conceal their unique essence in social relationships within their communities experience ontological alienation and anxiety. Their experience suggests that humans are inherently adapted to ‘being-in-the-world’, and ‘Dasein’ is a truth asserted by ontology demanding honor for the individualities of neurodiverse people that manifest as ontological differences. Neurodiversity and ontology can contribute to the creation of a social culture that recognizes the different types of beings that exist in the world and respects their uniqueness.
