성인자녀-부모 가구 간 자원 공유정도 측정을 위한 지수 개발: EFA와 CFA의 활용

국문 초록

본 연구는 독립된 가구를 구성하는 성인자녀-부모 가구 간 조직적 자원의 공유정도를 측정하기위해 공유 지수 개발을 시도하였다. 이를 위한 기초 작업으로 가구의 개념과 세대 간 결속에 관한문헌을 고찰하고, 심층면접 조사를 통해 18개의 설문문항을 구성하였다. 다음 단계로 공유 지수를산출하기 위해 서울 및 경기도에서 부모와 교통수단을 이용할 때 30분 이내 거리에 거주하는자녀 500가구를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 조사자료를 사용하여 탐색적 요인분석과확인적 요인분석을 실시하고 그 결과 17개 문항, 2개의 하위요인(“실질적 지원 및 공동 활동”, “가족적 친밀감 및 상호지원”)으로부터 공유 지수를 산출하였다. 산출된 공유 지수의 타당성 검증결과 공유지수는 일관된 결과를 보여준다. 공유지수를 적용하여 부모가구의 소득분배 지표가11~24% 정도 개선될 수 있다는 결과를 얻었고 이는 해당 지수의 활용가능성을 보여준다. 본 연구는 부모와 성인자녀 가구의 자원 공유 정도를 측정하는 지수 개발 및 그 활용의 가능성을 탐색했다는 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The primary aim of the present study is to develop an index that measures the degree of resource sharing between adult child and parent households. As a first step, we review the literature concerning the definition of households and intergenerational solidarity. Subsequently, through in-depth interviews, we construct 18 survey questions. To create a sharing index, a survey is implemented with 500 adult child households living within a 30-min distance from their parents in Seoul and Gyoengi Provinces. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted with the collected data, resulting in the derivation of sharing index from two sub-factors based on 17 observed items. The validation of this index yields consistent results with the two survey item on “shared daily life with parent household” and “shared livelihoods with parent household”. By applying the index to recalculate the poverty rate, we discover that the income distribution indicator of parent households could improve by approximately 12-35%. Empirical results suggest the potential utility of this index. The significance of this study lies in exploring the feasibility of developing an index to measure the extent of resource sharing between parent-adult child households.
