Gender differences in adolescent cyber delinquency patterns using multi-group latent transfer analysis

국문 초록

본 연구는 종단적 청소년 사이버 비행 궤적을 다중 잠재전이 모형 (MGLTA)으로 도출하고성별과 공변량이 그것에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사 (KCYPS) 2018 자료를 이용하여 8학년부터 10학년까지의 학생 1,954명 (남: 1050; 여: 904)을 표본으로하였다. 본 연구에서 확인된 4개의 잠재 사이버비행 행태는 무 비행 (71.6), 폭언 및 폭설 (18.03), 중등비행 (9.39), 그리고 고비행 (0.98%) 등이었다. 사이버 비행을 한 학생의 비율은 약 28%이었다. 성별로는 남성이 여성보다 1.7-3.0배 많았고, 사이버비행의 안정성도 남성이 유의적으로 높았다. 본 연구에서 확인된 청소년 사이버비행의 성별 발달패턴을 예측할 수 있는 중요 요인으로 남성의경우는 우울과 폰 의존도가 위험요인이었고 자존감이 보호요인이었다. 반면에 여성의 경우는 폰의존도가 위험요인이었고 애착관계가 보호요인이었다. 이러한 결과들은 청소년 사이버비행을 일률적인 접근방식이 아니라 성별로 구분한 표적 개입의 중요성을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study utilized MGLTA to derive longitudinal trajectories of adolescent cyber delinquency and analyzed the effects of gender and covariates on these trajectories. For this purpose, 1,954 students (1,050 male; 904 female) from 8th to 10th grade were sampled using KCYPS 2018 data. The four latent cyber delinquency statuses identified in this study were non-delinquents (71.6%), posting bad words (18.03%), moderate delinquents (9.39%), and serious delinquents (0.98%). The percentage of students who did cyber delinquency was about 28%. In terms of gender, males outnumbered females by 1.7-3.0 times, and the stability of cyber delinquency was significantly higher in males. As important factors predicting the gender development pattern of adolescent cyber delinquency identified in this study, for males, depression and phone dependence were risk factors, and self-esteem was a protective factor. On the other hand, for females, phone dependence was a risk factor, and attachment relationships were identified as protective factors. These results suggest the importance of targeted interventions differentiated by gender rather than a one-size-fits-all approach to adolescent cyber delinquency.
