중년기 임금노동자의 결혼상태가 건강에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구는 중년기 임금노동자의 결혼상태가 건강에 미치는 영향에 있어 성 차이가 존재하는지 알아보기 위하여 2022년도 복지패널 자료 중 40~50대 임금노동자 총 2,416명의 자료를분석하였으며 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 응답자의 77.6%가 기혼자였으며, 결혼하였으나이별상태가 9.4%, 결혼한 적 없는 비혼이 13.0%로 나타나 중년기 임금 노동자들의 결혼상태가 다원화되었음을 확인하였다. 둘째, 남성의 자존감과 삶의 낙관성은 기혼, 비혼, 이별 순으로 유의한 차이를 보였을 뿐만 아니라 비혼 남성은 기혼 남성에 비해 낮은 생활만족도를 통해자존감과 삶의 낙관성이 떨어지는 간접효과를 보여 결혼의 건강효과가 일부 지지되었다. 그러나 여성 노동자들의 경우 이별 여성이 기혼 여성의 삶의 낙관성보다 유의하게 낮은 것을 제외하고 결혼의 건강효과는 거의 부재하였다. 셋째, 남성의 건강은 여성에 비해 생활만족도보다 정규직여부, 사업장규모, 경상소득수준, 자기 소유의 집과 같은 사회경제적 변수들이 큰영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 차이를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 여성 노동자들은 혈연과 가족을중시하는 가족주의에서 벗어났지만 남성 노동자 집단에서 남성생계부양자모델이 여전히 지지되고 있음을 시사한다. 이를 토대로 결혼과 가족의 함의에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed 2,416 men and women in their 40s and 50s on wage work among the 2022 welfare panel data to find out whether there is a gender difference in the health impact of middle-aged wage workers’ marital status, and the results of the analysis are as follows. First, 77.6% of married, 9.4% of those who were married but separated, and 13% of non-married, confirming that the marital status of middle-aged wage workers was diversified. Second, men’s self-esteem and life optimism showed significant differences in the order of married, non-married, and separated, and non-married men showed lower self-esteem and life optimism through lower life satisfaction than married men, partially supporting the health effects of marriage. However, in the case of female workers, there was little health effect of marriage, except that separated women had significantly lower optimism in life. Third, men’s health was less affected by life satisfaction than women, and socioeconomic variables such as age and regular worker status, workplace size, current income level, and home owned by themselves showed a greater impact. These results suggest that female workers have escaped from familialism, which values blood ties and family, but the male bread winner model is still supported in the male worker group. Based on this, the implications of marriage and family were discussed.
