최중도 발달장애인을 위한 원예 프로그램을 진행한 원예 강사의 협력적 실행

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 원예 프로그램 강사인 연구자가 주간활동센터 관계자와 협력하여 최중도 발달장애인을 위한 원예 프로그램을 운영하는 과정에서 얻게 된 실천적 지식을 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 협력적 실행연구를 수행하였으며, 연구 참여자는 연구자와 최중도 발달장애인 3명, 담임교사 3명, 센터장, 원예 활동 외부 전문가 2인이었다. 연구 과정에서 수집한 자료를 포괄적 분석절차에 따라 분석하여, ‘꿈틀꿈틀 진화하는 원예 활동’, ‘함께여서 가능한 참여자들의 역동’, ‘거듭나는 협력관계’라는 3개의 상위범주와 9개의 하위범주, 22개의 의미 단위로 구성하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 최중도 발달장애인이 원활하게 참여하는 원예 프로그램을 만들기 위해서는 세심한 관찰을 통해 수업 참여자들의 고유한 장애특성과 수업에서의 행동 양상을 파악해야 함을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 실행 과정 전반에서 외부 강사와 내부 구성원 간 지속적이고 밀도 있는 소통을 통한 관계 맺음이 이루어져야 자발적인 참여를 이끌어낼 수 있으며, 셋째, 외부 강사와 내부 교사가 공동의 목표를 명확히 수립하여야, 참여 구성원 모두의 전문성 신장과 수업 개선을 위한 지속적 노력으로 이어질 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 향후 질 높은 평생교육 프로그램을 제공하기 위해서는 역량 있는 전문가의 양성과 상호 협력체계를 강화할 필요성이 있음을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the practical knowledge gained by the researcher, a horticultural activity instructor, while collaborating with day activity center officials to create a horticultural program for people with profound developmental disabilities (PDD). The research participants included the researcher, three people with PDD, three classroom teachers, the center director, and two external experts in horticultural activities. The data collected during the implementation process were analyzed using a comprehensive analysis procedure and organized into three superordinate categories: ‘the evolving gardening activity’, ‘the dynamics of the participants’, and 'reborn cooperative relationships'. The results of the study showed that, first, in order to create a horticulture program for people with PDD, careful observation is necessary to understand their unique characteristics. Second, constant and close communication between the external instructor and the internal members is important throughout the process. Third, external instructors and internal teachers need to clearly establish common goals, which can lead to professional growth for both and continuous efforts to improve instruction. Based on these research results, it is suggested that there is a need to foster competent experts and strengthen the mutual cooperation system to provide high-quality lifelong education programs for people with PDD in the future.
