국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 <동사서독>의 남녀 주인공인 구양봉과 자애인의 사랑 이야기를 중심으로 여러 등장인물들의 심리를 분석하기 위한 것이다. 영화에 등장하는 주요 인물들은 실패하는 사랑을 향해 나아간다. 사랑하는 대상을 충분히 잡을수 있는데도 여러 가지 이유로 사랑의 대상을 포기해 버린다. 이들은 현실적인이유로 사랑에 실패하는 것으로 보이지만, 정신분석적으로 볼 때는 사랑에 실패하기 위해 어떤 행동을 하는 것이다. 구양봉은 사랑한다는 말을 한 번도 하지 않음으로써 자애인이 자신을 떠나가게 만들고, 황약사는 사랑에 실패하기 위해 처음부터 배우자가 있는 유부녀를 사랑하고 욕망한다. 맹무살수는 아내가 자신을사랑하는데도 불구하고 다른 남자를 사랑한다며 오인하고 아내 곁을 떠난다. 이들은 사랑하는 사람과 헤어진 후에는 그 대상을 그리워하고 기다린다. 마치 그리워하고 기다리기 위해 사랑에 실패하는 사람들처럼 보인다. 영화에서 주요 인물들은 모두 실패 신경증을 보인다고 해석할 수 있다. 자기 처벌이나 죄책감 때문에 사랑의 욕망이 충족되는 것을 무의식적으로 피하는 것이다. 현실적인 욕망이 충족되는 것을 견디지 못해 스스로 실패를 선택하는 것이다. 남자 주인공인 구양봉은 실패 신경증과 함께 반복 강박과 운명 신경증도 함께 보인다. 구양봉은 사랑하는 여인이 죽은 후에는 똑같은 꿈을 계속 반복해서 꾸는데, 꿈속에서 사랑의 실패를 반복한다. 이것이 바로 반복 강박이다. 또 그는 사랑의 실패를 포함한 모든 것을 운명과 연결시킨다. 이것이 바로 운명 신경증이다. <동사서독>에서는 등장인물이 서로 닮음으로써 혼동되고 오인된다. 완사녀는도화삼랑과 닮았고, 모용연은 자애인과 닮았다. 모용연/모용언은 동일 인물로서남자와 여자를 왔다 갔다 하면서 사랑과 복수의 양가적인 면을 보여 준다. 모두가 너와 나의 관계로 닮은꼴이고 그것이 동일한 구조 위에서 움직인다. 영화는경칩에서 시작하여 경칩에서 이야기가 끝나는 순환 구조를 취하면서 사랑의 실패를 반복적으로 보여 준다. <동사서독>에서 모든 사람은 사랑을 놓치고 사랑에진다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the psychology of the characters in ‘Ashes of Time’, focusing on the love story of Ouyang Feng and Brother’s Wife. Most of the main characters in the film move toward love that fails. They give up the object of love for trivial reasons even though they can afford to get the one they love. They seem to fail in love for practical reasons on the surface, but from a psychoanalytic point of view, they do something to fail in love on an unconscious level. Ouyang Feng makes his lover leave him by never saying “I love you” to her. Huang Yaoshi loves and desires a married woman with a spouse from the beginning in order to fail in love. Blind Swordsman misunderstands that his wife loves a man other than him and leaves his wife even though his wife genuinely loves him. So all of them miss and wait for their loved one after they break up. They look like people who fail in love in order to miss and wait for their object of love. It can be interpreted that main characters mostly show failure neuroticism. They unconsciously avoid the fulfillment of their desire for a lover because of self-punishment or guilt. They unconsciously choose to fail on their own because they cannot endure the fulfillment of their desire in reality. Ouyang Feng, the male lead character, shows repetition compulsion and fate neurosis along with failure neuroticism. Ouyang Feng dreams the same dream repeatedly after the death of his beloved woman, and in his dream he repeats the failure of love. This is the repetition compulsion. He also links everything to fate, including the failure of love. This is the very fate neurosis. In “Ashes of Time,” characters are confused and misunderstood because they resemble each other. Girl with a Mule resembles Blind Swordsman’s wife, and Murong Yang resembles Brother’s Wife. An person called Murong Yang or Murong Yin alternately plays male/female characters and shows the ambivalence of love and revenge. Everyone is in the relationship between you and me, and it moves on the same structure. The movie repeatedly shows the failure of love, taking a circulatory structure that begins the story when Spring awakens and ends it when Spring returns. In ‘Ashes of Time,’ everyone misses love and loses love.
