국문 초록

본 논문은 2005 - 2014년 기간 중 한국의 고용증가의 요인에 대하여 동태적 변이-할당 분석을실시한다. 한국을 수도권, 중부권, 호남권, 영남권의 4개 권역으로 구분하여 중분류산업을기준으로 동태적 변이-할당 분석을 실시한다. 동태적 변이-할당 분석은 고용증가 요인을국가성장효과, 산업구성효과, 지역할당효과의 3개효과로 분해하여 제시한다. 이와 같은동태적 변이-할당 분석을 통하여 고용이 빠르게 증가하는 지역과 산업을 식별할 수 있다. 분석결과, 분석기간 중 고용의 약 2/3는 수도권 지역에서 창출된 것으로 나타났다. 이는정부의 수도권 규제와 고용창출 정책의 상충가능성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This paper examines regional employment growth of four regions of Korea such as Seoul metropolitan area, Middle area, Honam area and Yeongnam area. Applying the dynamic shift-share analysis, the paper decomposes employment growth of the four regions into the national growth effect, the industrial mix effect, and the competitive (regional share) effect. By comparing the results of the dynamic shift-share analysis of the four regions, this paper identifies the causes and effects of employment growth in Korea for the period from 2005 to 2014. The empirical findings of the paper reveal a tough choice the Korean government confronts that, to create new employment, the government has to tolerate agglomeration of economic activity in Seoul metropolitan area.
