통전·융합적 생명신학 구상

국문 초록

본 연구에서 필자는 1) 기술과 자본주의의 결합에 바탕을 둔 인류세의 위기를 분석하고, 2) 생명세를 여는 학문의 포괄적인 체계를 밝히고, 3) 이를 뒷받침하는 통전·융합적인 생명신학의 구상을 제시하고자 한다. 인류세는 기술과 자본주의를 유기적으로 결합한 인류가 자연을 송두리째 변화시키는 힘을 발휘하는 지구 역사의 한 시기이다. 인류세는 복합적인 위기의 시대이다. 기술과 자본주의의 결합은 생태계의 안정성과 건강성을 파괴하여 문명의 자연적 기반을 송두리째 파괴하였고, 생산력과 생산관계를 근본적으로 변화시켰고, 정치, 경제, 사회, 법률 등 사람들의 교류관계를 규율하는 제도들을 바꾸었고, 문학, 예술, 종교, 철학, 신학 등 사람들의 의식과 가치관을 표현하는 일체의 문화 형식과 내용을 바꾸었다. 인류세의 위기를 넘어서서 생명세를 열려면 세 가지 과제가 제대로 수행되어야 한다. 하나는 생태계를 보전하고 가난한 사람들을 해방하는 것이다. 다른 하나는 과학주의의 도그마를 깨뜨리고 과학적 지식의 사회적 구성을 성찰하고 과학의 기술화를 정치적으로 규율하는 것이다. 마지막 하나는 인간중심주의를 해체하는 것이다. 이 세 가지 과제를 해결하려면 각각의 과제에 최적화된 이론들을 개발하여야 한다. 생태학과 정치경제학 비판의 융합에 바탕을 둔 현실분석적-제도비판적 이론들, 과학적 지식의 사회적 구성을 성찰하고 과학적 지식의 기술화를 정치적으로 규율하는 메타이론적-규범적 이론들, 인간중심적 세계관을 생태중심적 세계관으로 전환하는 과정을 연구하는 텍스트분석적-해석학적 이론들이 그것이다. 인류세를 극복하고 생명세를 열고자 하는 학문은 이 세 가지 유형의 이론들이 필수 불가결한 부분들을 이루는 통전·융합학이다. 생명신학은 생명세를 여는 학문의 한 지평으로서 인류세를 넘어서서 생명세를 향해 가고자 하는 그리스도인들에게 확실한 언어를 주고자 하는 신학적 기획이다. 생명신학에 근거한 사회윤리는 생명세를 여는 학문의 이론들을 활용하여 제도를 규율하는 방안을 제시하고자 할 것이며, 바로 그런 의미에서 통전·융합적인 신학의 프레임을 갖출 것이다.

영문 초록

In this study, the author 1) analyzes the crisis of the Anthropocene based on the combination of technology and capitalism, 2) designs a comprehensive system of sciences that open the age of life, and 3) presents a holistic and integral concept of theology of life that supports such a system of sciences. The Anthropocene is called the period in Earth s history when mankind, who has organically combined technology and capitalism, exerts the power to change nature. The Anthropocene is characterized as a period of multiple crises. The combination of technology and capitalism has destroyed the stability and healthiness of the ecosystem and, as a result, the natural foundation of civilization has collapsed. It has fundamentally changed productive forces and relations of production, and political, economic, social and legal institutions which have regulated exchanges and relations among people. It has also changed forms and contents of the texts, in which people s consciousness and values have been documented, such as literature, art, religion, philosophy, theology, etc. To overcome multiple crises of the Anthropocene and open the age of life, three tasks must be properly carried out. One is to preserve ecosystems and liberate the poor. The other is to break the dogma of scientism. Scientific knowledge must be regarded as social construction and the technological use of science should be regulated politically. The last one is to deconstruct anthropocentric cultures and norm systems. To solve these three tasks, it is necessary to develop theories optimized for each task. First, reality-analytic and institutional-critical theories must be based on the combination of ecology and the critique of political economy. Second, meta-theoretic and normative theories must be developed to reflect the social construction of scientific knowledge and regulate politically the technological use of scientific knowledge. Third, text-analytic and hermeneutic theories must be designed to promote a wide-ranged transition from the anthropocentric to ecological and life-oriented cultures. These three types of theories must be integrated into a system of sciences toward the age of life. Theology of life is a theological project that aims to give clear messages to Christians who want to overcome the crises of the Anthropocene and go toward the age of life. Social ethics based on the theology of life use the above-mentioned system of sciences to regulate institutions. Therefore social ethics stand out for the characteristics of holistic and integrated research.
