WYD Seoul 2027을 향한 ‘청년 사목’의 성찰적 제도화에 관한 연구: 시노달리타스의 적용을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 논문은 2027 서울 세계청년대회(WYD)를 준비하면서, 청년 사목이 나아가야 할 방향에 관해 살펴본다. 현대사회에서 청년에게 희망을 전달하기를 간절히 염원했던 (故)프란치스코 교황의 정신과 세계주교대의원회의 제16차 정기총회 ｢최종 문서｣를 중심으로 청년 사목의 난맥상을 해결하기 위한 사목적 회심과 제도적 성찰성을 주로 검토하였다. 한국 사회에서 청년세대 담론은 다중압력의 취약성 속에서 다중 갈등(젠더, 세대, 시장, 정치 등) 속에서 호명(naming)을 둘러싼 당사자 주체성의 헤게모니(주도권) 경쟁이 심화되고 있다. 하지만 교회 공동체는 성령의 부르심(calling) 안에서 신분과 위계에 상관없이 하느님의 거룩함과 충만한 삶을 증거하는 보편적 소명을 받으며, 친교, 참여, 사명으로 나아간다. 2027 서울 세계청년대회를 기점으로 청년 사목이 활성화되기 위해서는 준비 단계부터 사후작업에 이르기까지 청년들의 주도적 참여 안에 사목적 ‘동반 여정’이 이뤄질 수 있는 다양한 제도적 혁신이 요청된다. 본 연구는 시노달리타스에 입각한 청년 사목의 제도적 혁신으로서 ‘더 많은 참여 자리의 확보’, ‘자문의 중대성’, ‘책무성과 투명성 증대’, ‘참된 권위의 조건’에 관한 성찰점을 제시하였다. 이러한 시도는 2027 서울 세계청년대회의 준비-거행-평가 과정에서의 시노달리타스 적용 방식에 관한 제안과 그 경험을 청년 사목 전반으로 확산시키는 교회 문화와 행정 제도의 쇄신을 제언했다는 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study examines the direction young adult ministry should take in preparation for the 2027 Seoul World Youth Day (WYD). It focuses on addressing the challenges of young adult ministry by considering pastoral conversion and institutional reflection, primarily drawing upon the vision of Pope Francis, who ardently aspired to convey hope to young adults in contemporary society, as well as the Final Document of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. In Korean society, discourse surrounding the younger generation has become increasingly entangled in multifaceted pressures and conflicts (gender, generation, market, politics, etc.), where the hegemonic struggle for agency surrounding “naming” has intensified. However, the Church community, within the calling of the Holy Spirit, receives a universal vocation to testify to God's holiness and fullness of life, irrespective of status or hierarchy, moving forward in communion, participation, and mission. To ensure a pastoral “accompanied journey” that encourages young adults to actively participate in every stage—from planning to post-event follow-up—a number of institutional innovations are needed if young adult ministry is to be revitalized through the WYD Seoul 2027. Reflections on Synodality-based institutional innovations for the young adult ministry are presented in this study. These include “opening more positions for participation,” “emphasizing the significance of consultation,” “enhancing accountability and transparency,” and “elements for authentic authority.” By promoting new methods of Synodality during the planning, execution, and a- ssessment of the WYD Seoul 2027, these initiatives lead to disseminating the experiences and understanding gained to young adult ministry broadly and aid in the reform of Church administration and culture.
