영문 초록

Organization of work through the process in which an author finds a writing material from the real world is a series of literary configuration. Author uses a method of u-ui properly in that series of process. Author can create the specific features based on both symbolic meaning and typical image of animal and carry a very unwieldy item to write directly through metaphor and satire. And readers get the technical foundation from which he or her could deduce u-ui in context. Therefore, these studies can be a significant methodology for understanding the author`s own method of literary configuration. In this paper, we study a animal awareness of Lee Gyubo who represent Goryeo through his poetry and prose and consider what aspect he tried to emerge through the configuration. There are around 30 works using animal subject such as chicken, magpie, wild goose, mandarin duck and flea. Among those animals, spider and cicada represents greed and integrity, mouse and cat indicate evil and eradication of ills, dog and horse symbolize faithfulness and deprived person, respectively. U-ui of object was symbolized to criticize and satirize a politically and ethically corrupt society. At that time, because of Musin-Gipkwon period, Lee Gyubo had no choice but to express his intention through the allegorism than straightforward writing.
