국문 초록

교사는 학생을 전제로 의미를 부여받고 교사의 존재가치는 학생과의 관계 속에서 형성된다. 이에 따라 교사-학생 간 관계의 건강을 점검하는 것은 의미 있는 작업이다. 건강한 관계가 서로의 존재가치를 향상시킬 수 있기 때문이다. 교사와 학생은 서로 함께하는 환경 속에서만 존재할 수 있고 존재의미를 지닌다. 교사와 학생간의 건강한 관계가 요구되는 이유이다. 관계의 건강은 서로를 어떻게 판단하고 어떤 존재로 인식하느냐하는 문제와 관련된다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 교사에 대한 학생의 인식을 통해 양자관계의 건강을 점검하고자 하는 의도에서 이루어졌다. 이를 위해 교사에 대한 전통적 관점을 고찰하고, 학생의 교사에 대한 기본적 인식과 그러한 인식이 형성된 맥락을 조사하였다. 특히 학생들이 생각하는 교사의 역할과 학생과의 바람직한 관계에 대해 살펴보았고 교사와 학생간의 관계가 부정적으로 형성되는 원인 등에 대해 알아보았다. 그 결과 교사의 역할로는 ‘학습을 도와주는 일’을 가장 중요하게 생각했으며, 학생과의 관계는 ‘스승과 제자’를 바람직한 모델로 생각하고 있었다. 그리고 교사의 비인간적 행위와 교과에 대한 능력 부족을 바라보는 시각이 매우 부정적인 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 이러한 교사에 대한 학생의 인식과 관련한 교육적 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Teachers are given meaning from students, and their values are formed with the relationship of students. Therefore, checking teacher-student relationship is a meaningful work. For good relationships improve values of each other. Teachers and students can exist only under the environment of going together and have existing meaning. This is why good teacher-student relationships are needed. A condition of a good teacher-student relationship is combined with a problem about judgement and recognition of each other. The aims of this study is to intend to check the condition of teacher-student relationships through students recognition for teachers. To do this, I considered a traditional point of view about teachers and relationships between teachers and students. I also investigated carefully students fundamental recognition about teachers and connection about formation of such recognition. Especially, I looked at the role of teachers, good relationships with students, and causes of forming negative relationships with others. As a result of this analysis, generally, students were affirmative to their teachers, but their negative point of view was also high. Particularly this study shows that the students view about teachers is very negative when teachers do immoral acts and reveal their poor teaching ability. Finally, I dealt with educational implications for the cognition of students regarding such bad teachers.
