국문 초록

본 논문을 통해서 저자는 오늘날의 예수 제자직과 관련하여 “신비주의”와“예언”이라고 불리는 그리스도교 영성의 두 가지 근본 요소의 관련성을 보려고 한다. 그리스도의 제자됨의 이 두 가지 중요한 차원을 오늘날 대부분의 그리스도인들, 사제들과 수도자들까지도 별로 중요하게 생각하지 않는 것이 사실이다. 그렇기 때문에 교회와 사회 안에서 여러 가지 문제들이 발생하고 있다. 이 연구를 통해서 그 문제들에 대한 해결점을 찾고자 한다. 이 작업의 첫 번째 장은 “신비주의”가 무엇인지, 예수님의 제자됨과 관련하여“예언”이 무엇인지 이해하려는 것이다. 사실 이러한 측면은 그리스도인 정체성의 일부이며 근본적으로 성경적 개념이다. 신비적인 깊은 체험과 하느님과의 심오한 영적 결합이 없다면 진정한 그리스도인이 될 수 없고, 참된 예언자 또는 진정한 신비주의자가 될 수 없다. 예언과 신비주의 사상은 교회의 역사 속에서 보는 그리스도교 영성의 중요한 요소들이다. 덜 중요한 많은 일에 신경을 쓰고 가장 중요한 것을 편안하게 잊어가고 있는 교회의 모습에 많은 신앙인이 마음 아파하고 있다. 그래서 첫 장에서는 신비적이고 예언적인 차원에서의 그리스도인의 삶을 다루게 된다. 두 번째 장에서는 예수님의 삶에서 보여 지는 신비주의와 예언의 요소들을 알아보려고 노력할 것이다. 모든 그리스도인이 예수님을 따르고 있다. 예수님의 삶에서 예언자와 신비가의 모습을 볼 수 있을까? 그분의 예언직의 특성은 무엇일까? 어떠한 신비가였을까? 오늘날 예수를 가까이서 따르려 애쓰는 사람들에게 이 질문들은 중요하다. 따라서 이 장에서는 예수님의 영성을 분석하고 그 분의 하느님과의 신비한 결합과 궁극적인 예언적 역할을 강조한다. 세 번째 장에서는 결국 처음 두 장에서 설명한 신학적 현실에 근거하여, 오늘 날 예수의 제자들이 스승의 삶에서 드러난 이 두 가지 필수적인 측면을 받아들여 많은 사람들에게 복음의 증거가 될 수 있는 도전적인 삶을 살아가도록 초대하는 장이다. 이것이 이 논문의 결론이 되며 오늘날의 예수의 많은 제자들은 좀 더 예수를 입은 사람답게 제2의 그리스도가 되기 위한 부르심을 받았다는 것을 다시 일깨워준다. 그리스도인의 기본적인 영성에는 신비주의와 깊이 있게 하느님을 관상하는 자세가 있다. 신비주의와 예언을 교회 안의 사제직과 축성된 봉헌생활에서 분리할 수는 없다. 왜냐하면 이 두 요소가 예수의 삶의 필수적인 부분이고, 제자직의 무시할 수 없는 요소이기 때문이다. 사제직과 수도생활에서 신비주의와 예언을 통합할 수 있는 구체적인 방법이 있다. 그것은 하느님과 깊은 관계 속에 머무르는 사제와 수도자의 깨어있는 삶에서 드러나게 된다. 물론 사제들이나 수도자들은 하느님의 은총을 힘입을 때 자신에게 주어진 예언적이고 신비적인 역할을 할 수 있게 된다. 오늘날 교회의 영적인 쇄신을 이루기 위해 이 점을 고려해야할 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

In this short work the author tries to see the relevance of two fundamental elements in Christian spirituality called mysticism and prophecy with regard to today’s Christian discipleship. These two important dimensions of Christian Discipleship are generally ignored by most of the Christians especially priests and religious of today. Hence the first Chapter is an attempt to understand what mysticism is and what prophecy is with regard to becoming a disciple of Jesus. In fact these aspects are part of Christian identity and they are fundamentally Biblically based concepts. In its root we see Faith Hope and Charity which are fundamental to Christian Discipleship. Without this experience of transcendence and an in-depth spiritual union with God one cannot be a true Christian, a true prophet or a true mystic. In the second chapter we will try to trace elements of mysticism and prophecy in Jesus’ life. All Christian disciples are followers of Jesus. Being disciples they cannot ignore these two essential elements – mysticism and prophecy- visible in Jesus’ teachings and ministry. So in this Chapter, Jesus’ spirituality is analyzed and highlighted his mystical union with God and eventual exercise of prophetic role. And finally, based on the theological realities explained in the first two chapters, in the third chapter the author challenges the present day disciples of Jesus to embrace these two essential aspects in Jesus’ life to be credible witnesses of the Gospel as a solution to many fundamental problems the disciples of Jesus face today. The author concludes by saying, Christian discipleship is meaningless if it ignores these two fundamentals of Christian identity. The basic Christian attitude of a Christian Disciple is an attitude of mysticism and contemplation. One cannot separate these two dimensions -mysticism and prophecy- from priesthood and religious life. Because they are disciples of Jesus to whom these two elements are integral part of his life. There are concrete and specific ways by which we can integrate mysticism and prophecy in priestly and religious life. One needs to understand the meaning and practice of mysticism and prophecy in the context where one lives and work as an apostle. Being these two dimensions of discipleship are gifts of God’s reign, one can not become a mystic and a prophet without the power of God’s saving love and grace.
