소극적 안락사에 관한 선교신학적 실천 방안에 관한 연구

국문 초록

소극적 안락사를 이해한다는 것은 단지 죽음에 대한 생물학적 이해를 벗어나 하나님에 관한 이해를 필요로 한다. 따라서 기독교 관점에서 죽음은 하나님의 주권을 인식하는 방법 중의 하나다. 안락사는 자연사가 아니다. 환자로 하여금 편안하고 쉽게 죽고, 가정의 사회경제적인 비용을 절감한다는 함의를 가지고 있음에도 비자연적인 죽음은 허용돼서는 안 된다. 그것은 성경에서 기록되어 있는 대로 하나님에 의해서만 허용되어야 한다. 본 연구는 세 가지의 관점으로 검토되었다. 첫째, 안락사는 어떤 경우에도 고통을 절대적인 악으로 간주되기 때문에 단지 고통을 경감하기 위한 죽음이 되어서는 안 된다. 그것은 환자의 극단적인 고통이 계속되고 그의 가족이 사회경제적인 어려움을 겪기 때문에 가장 최선의 대안으로 이해하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 적절한 대안은 환자가 죽음과 하나님의 의지를 받아들이는 것이 준비된 경우 호스피스를 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 둘째, 기독교윤리는 생명경시사상을 불식하기 위한 조건 하에서 이루어져야 하고 의학적인 윤리 조건은 안락사를 포함하여 확립되어야 한다. 이 경우에도 하나님의 주권과 생명의 존엄성은 깊이 있게 논의되어야 한다. 셋째, 환자가 회복할 가능성이 없고 사망에 임박해 있는 경우, 우리 사회는 가정의 경제적인 고통을 분담해야 한다. 따라서 의료적인 비용에 대한 사회적 책임은 더욱 더 중대한 방법으로 논의되어야 하고, 건강보험제도는 의료보험 혹은 공공부조제도를 포함하여 환자 혹은 가정을 위해 그 제도의 재구조화와 관련하여 개선되어야 한다. 본 연구는 소극적인 안락사에 관한 학제적인 연구를 토대로 하고 있고 선교적인 실천방안의 관점에서 방향성 혹은 대안을 찾고 있다는 점에서 그 중요한 단서를 제공하고 있다.

영문 초록

Understanding an euthanasia does not simply mean the biological understanding of the death but the understanding in relation to God. The death from Christian perspective is one of the ways to recognize God’s sovereignties. Therefore, euthanasia is not a natural death. The unnatural death under the names of comfortable and easy death for the patient, reduction of family’s suffering and decrease of economical and social cost shall be prohibited. There should be only the death allowed by God as stipulated in the Bible. This study examined the passive euthanasia from three perspectives. First, this study proposes that euthanasia should not allowed in any case when we find human dignity in God. Since the Bible does not regard the pain as an absolute evil, it cannot be accepted that we choose death to avoid pain. Nevertheless, since the patient’s extreme pain continues and his/her family suffers economic and social pressure, it is necessary to find the best alternative. Therefore, the appropriate alternative would be a hospice where the patient can be prepared for one’s death and accept God’s will. Second, the Christian ethics should be established under the condition where the trend to make light of life prevails, and the specific medical ethics guidelines should be established including euthanasia. In addition, it should be also avoided to indiscriminately get on bandwagon to bring into the public discussion and legitimate in a system the passive euthanasia. Instead, the sovereignty of God and dignity of life should be discussed in depth. Third, in case the patient has no possibility to recover and only extends his/her death process, our society has to share the family’s economic suffering. Therefore, the social responsibility of the medical cost shall be discussed in a more serious manner, and the health insurance system should be improved in addition to the restructuring of the systems for the patient or family including medical insurance or public assistance system. The implications of this study would be to add a clue to the interdisciplinary research on euthanasia and to provide future directions in the future studies and an alternative from the aforementioned missiological perspectives.
