국문 초록

토마스는 선교의 목표가 인간화라고 주장하였다. 이 소고의 주목적은 인간화를 신학적으로 분석해 보는 것이다. 토마스는 기독교의 사상의 궁극적인 틀은 추상적인 하나님-인간 또는 오히려 인간을 위한 하나님인 예수 그리스도 또는 하나님의 인간성이다. 토마스는 현대의 혁명적인 변화의 의미와 신앙의 의사전달 표현으로서의 상황에 대한 기독교의 신앙의 함축적 의미를 탐구하는 맥락에서 그리스도의 통치권을 촉진시킨다. 토마스의 기독론적인 발전단계는 예수 그리스도의 왕적 통치를 묘사한다. 토마스는 역사상의 하나님 나라의 역동성을, 심판과 구원의 메시지를 선포하는 정의와 인간화를 위한 혁명적인 변화 내의 발효로 역할을 하는 것으로 보는 그의 견해로 발전시킨다. 그것은 그리스도의 통치권이, 죄와 악의 모든 구조를 극복하고 마침내 죽음 자체와 마지막 사건인 그리스도의 왕적인 통치의 뜻으로서 이해되는 것, 즉 이 세상의 왕국을 그리스도를 통하여 하나님의 나라로 전환되는 것을 의미한다. 하나님의 고통 받는 인간과의 함께 하심은, 예수그리스도를 정치적이고 이데올로기적인 투쟁으로부터 도출된 개념적인 도구의 말로 혁명적인 인본주의를 위한 원동력으로서 나타내는 인도의 기독론을 요한다. 복음의 보편성이 모든 문화와 이데올로기와 종교를 뚫고 들어가서 그것들을 그것의 매개물 즉 소위 “그리스도 중심의 혼합주의’로 변혁시키는 능력 안에서 그러한 표현을 찾아야 한다는 확신을 요구한다. 토마스는 그리스도 중심의 혼합주의로 이끄는 대화를 의미하는 교회가 되어야 함을 말한다. 따라서 “그리스도 중심의 혼합주의”는 타종교간의 대화가 목표이다. 이것은 종교적이고 이데올로기적인 다원주의 신학의 주요한 논점인 넓은 의미의 에큐메니즘과 열려진 세속주의를 표명하였다. 그가 기독교의 사회적 구조에 대한 구원을 소망하는 에큐메니컬 신학에 거대한 영향을 끼친 영향을 주었으나, 결국은 그것은 선교에서 편향된 구원을 지향하는 그리스도 중심의 혼합주의를 제안한 것이다.

영문 초록

M. M. Thomas insisted on humanization as a goal of mission. Thus, the aim of this essay analyses it theologically. Thomas affirms that the ultimate framework of Christian thought is Jesus Christ who is God-Man or rather God-for-Man, or the Humanity of God. Thomas promotes the Lordship of Christ in the context of exploring the meaning of the contemporary revolutionary changes and the implications of the Christian faith to such a context in terms of the communication of faith. Thomas’s Christological phase is delineated in the kingly rule of Jesus Christ. That means the lordship of Christ is to be understood in terms of the kingly rule of Christ, overcoming sin and all the structures of evil, and finally death itself and of the end-event, namely the conversion of the kingdoms of this world into the Kingdom of God through Christ. God’s identification with the suffering humanity calls for an Indian Christology which will present Jesus Christ as the dynamic for revolutionary humanism in terms of the conceptual tools derived from political and ideological struggle. The universality of the gospel should find its expression in its ability to penetrate all cultures, ideologies and religions and transform them into its media “Christ-centred syncretism.” Thomas speaks of the Church standing for dialogue leading to a Christ-centered syncretism. This would liberate the Churches from fear of dialogue which is almost the essence of any living theology which is the handmaid of evangelistic and social mission of the Church. A “Christ-centred syncretism” is the goal of inter-faith dialogue. This supported his major trends in the theology of religious and ideological pluralism, that is “wide ecumenism” and “open secularism” It is influenced a great deal to a theology of religion which will develop Ecumenical theology with a Christ-centred syncretism.
