국문 초록

2015년 크루즈선박을 이용하여 우리나라에 입국한 방한객수는 100만 명을 돌파하였다. 일반적으로 크루즈관광은 일정에 따라 2~3지역의 기항지에 하선하여 현지관광을 하는 일정으로 구성되어 있다. 크루즈선박이 국내항만에 중복기항할수록 방한객 1명의 효과는 기항지에서 하선한 수만큼 증가하여 국제여객선보다 외래 방문객 유치효과가 더 크다. 한국은행에 따르면, 우리나라는 서비스수지 중 여행수지의 만성적인 적자구조가 1991년 이래, IMF기간인 1998~1999년을 제외하고 현재까지 고착화되어 있다. 따라서 외래 방문객 유치효과가 큰 크루즈산업의 활성화는 서비스수지 개선에 도움이 될것이며, 크루즈관광객들을 대상으로 해양문화콘텐츠를 제공하는 지역에서는 관광수입 증대와 같은 경제활성화를 도모할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 만성적인 여행수지불균형 극복을 위해서는 크루즈산업의 역할에 대해 조명하고 관련산업의 관계기관의 역할에 대해 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to suggest the role of the cruise industry that improves the service balance in Balance of Payment. Research design, data, methodology : This paper gathered a data of departure from cruise port and entrance into cruise port from 2013 to 2015 in Korea and analyzed the travel balance among service balance in Balance of Payment. Results : To facilitate the cruise industry, Government agency like Port Authorities need to try such as i) recognition for decreasing trend of visitors, ii) utilization of the existing port facilities, iii) securing port hours, iv) creation of the content with regards to ocean-culture. Conclusions : As a result, the major feature of the cruise industry is the visitor creation effect. Because when the specific cruise ship calls more than one port and all visitors disembark from her to enjoy the excursion, the number of visitor was doubled. Thus the travelling expenses of cruise tourists seriously affect local tourism. Eventually the cruise industry can alleviate the chronic Korean balance-of-travel deficits.
