여고생의 노화불안과 노인에 대한 태도

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 미래 고령사회에서 노인부양의 주된 역할을 담당하게 될 여고생 들이 자신의 노화와 지금의 노인에 대하여 어떤 태도를 가지고 있는지를 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 A시에 거주하는 고등학교 1학년 여학생 304명을 대상으로 그들의 노화불안과 노인에 대한 태도를 조사하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 노화불안은 노인과 관계에 대한 두려움, 노년기 삶에 대한 불안, 상실에 대한 불안의 순이었으며, 상실에 대한 불 안은 조부모가 생존해 있지 않을수록 컸고, 노인과 관계에 대한 두려움은 노인 대상 봉사경험이 많을수록 컸다. 둘째, 노인에 대한 태도는 성격특성에 대한 태도, 지적 특 성에 대한 태도, 외적 특성에 대한 태도의 순으로 나타났다. 형제가 둘이고 월 소득 100만 원 미만인 경우가 노인의 성격특성에 대하여 더 긍정적이었고, 조부모가 생존해 있는 경우가 노인의 외적 특성에 대하여 더 긍정적이었으며, 월 소득이 높을수록 노인 의 지적 특성에 대하여 더 긍정적이었다. 셋째, 노인에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치는 요 인을 분석한 결과, 상실에 대한 불안과 노년기 삶에 대한 불안이 적을수록 노인의 성 격적 특성에 대하여, 상실에 대한 불안과 노인과 관계에 대한 두려움이 적을수록 노인 의 외적 특성에 대하여, 노인과 관계에 대한 두려움이 적을수록 노인의 지적 특성에 대하여 각각 더 긍정적이었다. 마지막으로 이러한 결과를 토대로 노인에 관한 교육과 미래 고령화정책에 관한 몇 가지 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This research examined female high school students' anxiety of aging, attitudes toward the elderly, and factors affecting their attitudes toward the elderly using a sample of 304 first grade high school girls in A city. The results of this study were as follows: ① Respondents' anxiety of aging was the highest in fear of relations with the elderly, followed by anxiety of later life aging and then anxiety of loss. There were significant differences in anxiety of loss of anxiety from grandparents existence, in fear of relations with the elderly from volunteering experiences for the elderly. ② Attitudes toward the elderly was the highest in attitudes toward personality of the elderly, followed by intellectual aspect, and then appearance. There were significant differences in attitudes toward personality from sibling number and monthly income, in attitudes toward appearance from grandparents existence, in attitudes toward intellectual aspect from monthly income. ③ Factors affecting attitudes toward personality were anxiety of loss and anxiety of later life, factor affecting attitudes toward appearance was anxiety of loss and fear of relations with the elderly, and factor affecting attitudes toward intellectual aspects was fear of relations with the elderly. Finally, we suggested several implications for future research and education about aging for adolescents.
