비선형 다층모형에 의한 다차원 문항반응 자료 분석

국문 초록

  비선형 다층모형을 이용한 검사자료의 분석은 문항 특성과 피험자 특성을 추정할 뿐만아니라 피험자의 배경 변수를 통제할 수 있다는 점에서 기존의 문항반응이론으로 대표되는 측정모형과 비교하여 장점을 갖는다. 그러나 현재까지 비선형 다층모형에 의한 문항 분석은 전통적인 일차원 모형에 제한되어왔다. 이 연구에서는 일차원 비선형 다층모형을 확장하여 다차원 비선형 다층모형에 의한 문항분석 방법을 제시하였다. 문항분석을 위해 문항모수와 능력모수를 추정하는 모형과 능력모수에 영향을 미치는 피험자의 배경 변수의 효과를 알아보기 위한 모형 등 두 가지 모형을 설정하였다. 또한 다차원 비선형 다층모형에 의한 문항분석 방법의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 청소년 직업 적성검사 자료를 비선형 다층모형뿐 아니라 다차원 문항반응모형을 적용하여 분석 결과를 비교하였다. 자료 분석 결과, 다차원 비선형 다층모형과 다차원 문항반응 모형은 문항모수와 능력모수를 동등하게 추정하였으며, 이러한 결과는 비선형 다층모형에 의한 다차원 검사자료 분석이 가능함을 나타낸다. 더 나아가 배경 변수를 포함한 다층모형에 의한 분석 결과와 일차원 모형과 이차원 모형의 능력모수 추정 결과 비교를 통하여 다차원 비선형 다층모형에 의한 보다 상세한 검사자료 분석이 가능함을 보였다.

영문 초록

  In order to analyze item response data, hierarchical nonlinear model has a merit in that examinee"s background variables can be included into the model to explain the true variance of ability parameters, which are considered as having random effects rather than fixed effect as in the case of the conventional item response model. However, analyzing item response data via hierarchical nonlinear model has been limited to the unidimensional model.
  This study aims to illustrate the ways of applying hierarchical nonlinear models to the analysis of multidimensional testing data. We analyzed multidimensional testing data via hierarchical nonlinear models and compared the results of the multidimensional hierarchical nonlinear model with those of the multidimensional item response model. To show empirical evidences for the equivalence of the two models, the data of the standardized vocational aptitude test for adolescents were analyzed. The results by the HLM and NOHARM showed that item parameter and person parameter estimates were virtually the same. It means that hierarchical nonlinear models can be applied to the analysis of multidimensional testing data. Also, by including examinee"s background variables, it showed that the effects of examinee"s background variables on their abilities in each dimension can be analyzed. Finally, we compared unidimensional model and multidimensional model and it showed that multidimensional model could provide more detail information on examinees in terms of ability parameter estimates.
