영문 초록

Jam-jae Kim, Ik-gyeom(1701-1747) was lived in the 18th century when Joseon society changed in many ways. Being a descendant of An-dong Kim Clan, Jam-jae was Gok-un Kim, su-jeung's grandson and Sam-yeon Kim, Chang-heup and Sa-cheon Lee, Byeong-yeon's student. Jam-jae's life and learning were influenced by them. In particular, the tradition of Gok-un and Sam-yeon's japyeongsi or poems on various subjects constituted the important part of Jamjae's poetic literature. Based on the research of the genealogy and other circumstances, Jam-jae was assumed to be Kim Chang-guk's illegitimate child. As an illegitimate child, Jam-jae must have had many difficulties in living in Joseon society where the law of social status was strict. However, he passed the primary state examination and had a minor official position. During his lifetime, he was recognized for his brilliant piece of writing and wrote Jamjae-gip. However, the original copy of the book does not exist in Korea but just in Japan now. It is known that the National Museum of Korea has its reproduced copy. The Nakeunbon Jamjae-gip showed its existence in Korea. Based on the research of Jam-jae's poetic literature, we concluded that he preferred serial poems which are important characteristics. Jam-jae's writing of serial poems followed the tradition of his clan and general tendency in the poetical circles of those times. Through his serial poems, Jam-jae expressed his talents and was recognized as a great poet. He showed literary talent by creating jingyeong-si or poems which poets write after viewing scenery in person. In particular, Jam-jae showed his great talent through delicate, realistic description in the preface of his poems. In addition, we conclude that Jam-jae was a born poet juding from his expression of various feelings in the poems. Jam-jae’s literature should be studied more in depth. Witnesses of his descendants should be collected and compiled in an extensive and thorough way. In addition to revealing unknown facts, we should study his life and literature based on the comprehensive analysis of Jamjae-gip and set up his position in the history of literature.
