국문 초록

본 연구는 대학(⼤學)의 명명덕(明明德), 회명덕(懷明德)을 철학적 기반으로 삼아, 중용이 제시한 성(性)‧도(道)‧교(敎)의 구조를 중심으로 음악치료 프로그램 뮤즈핌(Musepim)의 이론과 실천적 구조를 탐구하였다. 뮤즈핌은 ‘뮤즈(Muse)’와 ‘피움(Pim: 피어남)’의 결합어로, 예술을 통해 감정을 피우고 존재를 회복하는 감정예술치유 모델이다. 감정의 인지–표현–이해–전환–공유라는 다섯 단계를 구조화하며, 이는 중용의 성(性)‧도(道)‧교(敎)의 구조를 따라 흐르고 전환되어야 비로소 감정의 자기이해의 완성이 된다는 의미를 밝혀 나가고자 함이 목적이다. 연구자는 문화교차학의 문헌연구를 통해 동서양 철학과 음악치료 이론의 교차점을 분석하고, 임상과 예술의 실천 속에서 감정의 피어남이 어떻게 ‘존재 회복’으로 이어지는지를 탐색하였다. 그 결과, 음악치료는 감정을 품고 발하는 회명덕의 실천이며, 문화 교차학은 그 경험을 확장시키는 명명덕의 완성으로 나타난다. 본 논문은 음악치료라는 분야를 알리고, 나아가 감정의 자기이해로 이어지는 문화교차학적 관점을 존재회복의 시선으로 따라가 보고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the theoretical and practical structure of the music therapy program Musepim by grounding it in the philosophical foundations of Myeongmyeongdeok (明明德) and Hoemyeongdeok (懷明德) from The Great Learning, and the triadic framework of Seong (性, nature), Do (道, the way), and Gyo (敎, cultivation) presented in The Doctrine of the Mean. Musepim, a compound of “Muse” and pim (“blossoming”), is an emotional art-healing model designed to awaken emotions and restore human existence through artistic experience. It systematizes five stages—emotional awareness, expression, understanding, transformation, and sharing—and proposes that these stages reach completion only when they flow and shift in accordance with the Seong–Do–Gyo framework, thereby enabling a deeper form of emotional self-understanding. Through cross-cultural humanities research, this study analyzes intersections between Eastern and Western philosophy and contemporary music therapy theory, and explores how the “blossoming of emotion” experienced in clinical and artistic practice leads to the restoration of being. The results indicate that music therapy embodies the practice of Hoemyeongdeok by embracing and releasing emotion, while cultural studies extend this process toward the realization of Myeongmyeongdeok, illuminating the origin and nature of emotion. This study aims to contribute to the field of music therapy and, further, to trace how a cross-cultural perspective on emotional self-understanding can serve as a pathway toward existential recovery.
