대입제도 유형별 입학생의 소득수준 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국의 대학입시제도에서 *＊수시(학생부종합전형)*＊와 **정시(수능위주전형)**가 가구 의 사회경제적 배경, 특히 가구소득 수준과 어떠한 관련성을 가지는지를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 한 국교육개발원의 한국교육종단연구 2주기 9차년도 자료(2021년도 입학생)를 활용하여 약 3,000명의 일반대학 진학자를 대상으로 분석하였다. 기술통계와 로지스틱 희귀분석을 실시하여 대학유형별·순 위그룹별 가구소득 수준, 전형유형에 따른 소득 차이, 그리고 부모 학력과의 상호작용 효과를 검증 하였다. 분석 결과, 최상위권 대학으로 갈수록 입학생의 평균 가구소득이 유의하게 높게 나타났으며, 수 사정시 간 단순 평균의 차이는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 다만 상위 10위권 대학의 경우, 수시 입학생의 평균 가구소득이 정시 입학생보다 높게 나타나는 경향을 보였다. 로지스틱 회귀분석에서는 부모의 학력 수준이 높을수록 수시 전형을 통한 상위권 대학 입학 확률이 높아지는 상호작용 효과 가 통계적으로 유의하게 확인되었다. 이는 수시전형이 본래의 취지와 달리 사회경제적 배경에 더큰 영향을 받을 가능성을 시사한다. 본 연구는 최근 데이터를 활용함으로써 대입제도의 공정성과사회계충 이동성에 대한 경험적 근거를 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the relationship between admission types in the Korean college entrance system — regular admissions (Suneung-based) and early admissions (Comprehensive Student Record screening) —and students' socioeconomic backgrounds, particularly household income levels. Using data from the 9th wave of the Korean Educational Longitudinal Study II (2021 university entrants) conducted by the Korea Educational Development Institute, the analysis covers approximately 3,000 students enrolled in four-year universities. Descriptive statistics and logistic regression analyses were performed to examine differences in household income by university type and rank, admission type, and the interaction effects between parental education and income. The results show that students at top-ranked universities have significantly higher household income levels. While the mean difference between early and regular admission students was not statistically significant overall, students admitted through early admissions at the top 10 universities tended to have higher household incomes than those admitted through regular admissions. Logistic regression results indicate a statistically significant interaction effect, showing that students with highly educated parents are more likely to enter prestigious universities through early admissions. These findings suggest that the early admission system, contrary to its original goal, may be more influenced by socioeconomic background. This study provides empirical evidence for discussions on fairness in the college admission system and social mobility in Korea.
