선호활동을 활용한 시각적 단서 중재가 자폐스펙트럼장애 유아의 과제수행에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 자폐스펙트럼장애(ASD) 유아의 과제수행시간 증진을 위해 선호활동을 활용한 시각적 단서 중재의 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 5세 남아 1명을 대상으로 기준변동설계(changing criterion design)를 적용하였으며, 기초선, 중재 유지의 세 단계를 통해 과제 수행유지시간을 체계적으로 측정하였다. 중재는 유아의 선호활동을 시각적 단서로 제시하고, 과제수행 후 강화물을 제공하는 방식을 진행되었으며, 과제는 학습 상황(한글, 수)에 관한 것으로 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 중재 단계에서 유아의 과제수행시간이 기초선 대비 유의미한 향상이 보였으며, 중재 종료 후 유지 3회기 관찰에서도 확인되었다. 이는 선호활동과 시각적 단서를 결합한 중재가 자폐스펙트럼장애 유아의 동기를 촉진하고 과제수행 향상에 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다. 본 연구는 시각적 단서와 선호활동의 통합적 활용이 자폐스펙트럼장애 유아의 학습 참여를 향상하는데 실질적인 중재 전략으로서의 가능성을 보여주며, 향후 다양한 교육적 맥락에서의 적용 가능성을 제안한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a visual cue intervention using preferred activities to increase task engagement time in a young child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Changing Criterion Design was applied to a single 5-year-old boy, and task engagement time was systematically measured across three phases: baseline, intervention, and maintenance. The intervention involved presenting the child's preferred activities as visual cues and providing them as reinforcers after task completion. The tasks were academic activities related to Korean language and mathematics. The results showed a significant improvement in the child’s task engagement time during the intervention phase compared to the baseline, and this effect was maintained during three follow-up sessions afte r the intervention ended. These findings suggest that the combined use of preferred activities and visual cues has a meaningful effect on enhancing motivation and improving task performance in young children with ASD. This study demonstrates the practical potential of integrating visual cues with preferred activities as an effective intervention strategy to promote learning participation in children with ASD, and suggests its applicability in various educational contexts.
