국문 초록

This study systematically reviews the application of treatment fidelity in Korean counseling research addressing emotional and behavioral problems in children and proposes future directions for its broader implementation. Twenty-two journal articles published between 2015 and 2025 were selected for the analysis based These studies were reviewed for publication trends, participant characteristics, intervention content, study design, fidelity components, assessment methods, and reported outcomes. The analysis revealed that most studies focused on behavioral interventions grounded in applied behavioral analysis, primarily targeting children with developmental disabilities. Treatment fidelity was typically assessed using checklists that emphasized procedural adherence. However, qualitative dimensions—such as the quality of program delivery and participant responsiveness—were rarely considered. Additionally, few studies employed diverse or systematic methods. These findings highlight the limited application of treatment fidelity, particularly in counseling interventions for children without disabilities. The current use of fidelity assessment appears to be concentrated within highly structured, manualized interventions, leaving a gap in its application to more flexible or relational counseling approaches. To support broader and more meaningful implementation, it is essential to develop adaptable and multidimensional fidelity assessment frameworks that can be applied even to non-manualized or ecologically valid interventions.
