국문 초록

우리 삶은 교육과 교육 이외의 삶의 양상들이 교차하는 한 가운데에서 이루어지기에 교육은 그 순수한 양상으로 우리에게 체험되고 식별되기 어렵다. 대신 우리의 일상을 구성하는 다양한 활동들은 그 맥락에 의해 다양한 방식으로 우리에게 체험되며, 그 가운데 어떠한 활동은 교육의 속성을 더 많이 포함하기도 하고, 또 어떤 활동은 교육의 속성을 거의 포함하지 않은 채 수행되기도 한다. 그러나 우리는 전자, 곧 교육의 속성이 포함된 활동이 과연 어떻게 수행되는지에 대해 쉽사리 판단하기 곤란하다. 오히려 대다수가 우리가 가진 상식을 기준으로 어떠한 활동은 ‘교육적’이고, 다른 활동은 ‘비교육적’이라고 섣불리 재단(裁斷)하기 바쁘다. 이로부터 때때로 교육과 무관한 활동에 ‘교육적’이라는 수식어를 붙이거나, 반대로 교육의 속성에 상당 부분 부합하여 전개된 활동에는 ‘비교육적’이라는 꼬리표를 붙인다. 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 본 연구는 우리가 수행하는 일상의 활동들의 교육적 속성을 식별하고 평정할 수 있는 지표를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 교육본위론은 연구 전반의 이론적 배경과 맥락으로 교육본위론의 대강을 정리하고 이를 바탕으로 교육활동 평정을 위한 지표를 탐색하였다. 그리고 이러한 탐색의 과정에서 각 개별 지표의 의미를 명확히 하고자 각 개별 지표 및 해당 지표가 포함된 평정 요소에 대해 논의하였다. 이후에는 본 연구를 통해 탐색된 평정 지표의 해석에 있어서 고려할 점과 후속 과제의 방향에 대해 제안하며 본 연구를 마무리하였다.

영문 초록

As our lives unfold at the intersection of educational and non-educational dimensions, education rarely presents itself in a pure, distinguishable form. Rather, the diverse activities that constitute our daily lives are experienced in varying ways depending on their context—some embodying more educational characteristics, while others involve little to none. However, we find it difficult to easily judge how activities that contain many attributes of education are carried out. Instead, most of us are busy hastily judging some activities as ‘educational’ and others as ‘non-educational’ based merely on prevailing common sense. Consequently, activities that are largely unrelated to education are sometimes labeled as ‘educational,’ while, paradoxically, those that genuinely embody educational qualities are categorized as ‘non-educational.’ In light of this context, this study explored indicators that can identify and evaluate the educational attributes of the daily activities we perform. To this end, this study organized the theory of educative frame as the theoretical background and context for the overall research, from which it constructs categories and elements for evaluating educational activities and explored indicators. And in the process of this exploration, the study aims to clarify the meaning of each individual indicator, discussing both the indicators themselves and the evaluation elements they are associated with. Afterwards, the study concludes by addressing considerations for interpreting the evaluation indicators explored in this study and the direction for follow-up work.
