수학·영어 AIDT 구현 사례를 통한 사회과 AI 디지털 교과서(AIDT)의 연구 과제와 방향

국문 초록

본 연구는 수학·영어 교과의 인공지능 디지털 교과서(AIDT) 구현 사례를 비판적으로 분석하고, 사회과 AIDT의 설계 방향과 주요 연구 과제를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 최근 AIDT는 학습자의 수준에 맞는 개인화 학습, 실시간 피드백, 탐구 유도 기능을 갖춘 미래형 교육 플랫폼으로 주목받고 있으며, 수학과 영어를 중심으로 2025년 도입이 추진되고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 초등교사 커뮤니티에서 수집된 784건의 현장 의견을 텍스트 코딩 분석하여, 수학 AIDT의 반복 중심 알고리즘, 영어 AIDT의 문화 맥락 결여 등 기술적·교육적 한계를 체계적으로 정리하였다. 이러한 분석을 통해 사회과 AIDT는 단순한 기술 이식이 아닌, 교과 고유의 사고 구조와 시민적 교육 목표에 부합하는 독자적 설계 원리를 필요로 함이 드러났다. 이에 본 연구는 사회과 AIDT 설계의 주요 방향으로, 첫째 영역별 사고 구조 기반 기술 분기, 둘째 설명 가능한 AI와 윤리적 피드백 구조, 셋째 지역성과 참여를 강조한 탐구 기반 시나리오, 넷째 협력적 상호작용 기반 협력학습 환경 조성을 제안하였다. 특히 4단계 AIDT 수업 설계 모델과 실제 단원(‘지역의 변화’) 적용 시나리오를 제시함으로써 실천 가능성과 교육적 타당성을 함께 확보하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to critically examine the implementation cases of AI Digital Textbooks (AIDT) in mathematics and English education and to propose theoretical directions and practical research agendas for designing social studies AIDT. While AIDT is emerging as a future-oriented educational platform offering personalized learning, real-time feedback, and inquiry-based functions, early implementations reveal critical limitations such as repetitive algorithms in math and lack of cultural contextualization in English. Based on a text coding analysis of 784 responses from Korea’s largest elementary teacher community, this study identifies key pedagogical and technological concerns that must be addressed. Unlike subjects with clear-cut answers or linguistic performance goals, social studies require context-sensitive, value-laden, and multi-perspective learning. Accordingly, this paper proposes four core directions: (1) domain-specific algorithm branching based on disciplinary cognitive structures; (2) implementation of explainable and ethically-guided AI; (3) scenario-based inquiry models emphasizing locality and participation; and (4) collaborative learning environments encouraging civic engagement. A four-stage AIDT-based instructional design model and a lesson scenario applied to the elementary unit “Changes in Our Region” are presented to demonstrate both theoretical coherence and practical feasibility.
