대학생의 다차원적 완벽주의 성향 2×2 모형 군집분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 개인기준 완벽주의와 평가염려 완벽주의 수준에 따라 완벽주의 성향을 2×2 모형의 네 가지 하위유형으로 구분하고, 이를 국내 대학생을 대상으로 검증하여 완벽주의의 다차원적 심리적 특성을 이해하고 실증적 연구를 뒷받침하고자 했다. 이를 위해 대학생 203명을 대상으로 다차원적 완벽주의 척도(FMPS, HFMPS)를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0을 통해 기술통계분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관분석, 군집분석을 진행한 결과, ‘혼합된 완벽주의’, ‘순수 평가염려적 완벽주의’, ‘비완벽주의’, ‘순수 개인기준적 완벽주의’로 군집이 형성되어 완벽주의 성향 2x2 모형의 4가지 하위유형을 검증하였다. 본 연구 결과는 완벽주의가 과거에 제시된 단일차원의 개념이 아닌 다차원적 개념임을 검증하고, 완벽주의의 복잡한 심리적 특성을 설명하는 자료로서 실증적 연구를 뒷받침하기 위한 안정성을 검증했다는 의미를 가진다. 또한 연구 대상자의 47.3%가‘순수 평가염려적 완벽주의’ 군집에 해당하는데, 이는 경쟁과 성과를 중시하고 개인의 가치를 외부 평가에 따라 판단하는 현대 사회의 분위기가 대학생 시기에 타인의 평가에 민감하게 반응하도록 압력을 가한다는 것을 의미하며 많은 사람들이 자신의 내적 목표와 가치보다는 외부 인정에 의존하고 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 제한점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study classified perfectionism tendencies into four subtypes of a 2×2 model according to the level of Personal standards perfectionism and Evaluative concerns perfectionism, and verified this with domestic college students to understand the multidimensional psychological characteristics of perfectionism and support empirical research. To this end, a survey was conducted using the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(FMPS, HFMPS) with 203 college students, and the collected data was subjected to descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and cluster analysis using SPSS 25.0. As a result, clusters were formed as ‘mixed perfectionism’, ‘pure evaluative concerns perfectionism’, ‘non-perfectionism’, and ‘pure Personal standards perfectionism’, verifying the four subtypes of the 2×2 model of perfectionism tendencies. The results of this study verify that perfectionism is a multidimensional concept, not a single-dimensional concept as previously suggested, and verify the stability to support empirical research as data explaining the complex psychological characteristics of perfectionism. In addition, 47.3% of the research subjects belonged to the ‘pure evaluative concerns perfectionism’ cluster, which means that the atmosphere of modern society, which values competition and achievement and judges personal value based on external evaluation, puts pressure on college students to be sensitive to others’ evaluations, and shows that many people depend on external recognition rather than their own internal goals and values. Based on the results of this study, the limitations and suggestions for future research were discussed.
