국문 초록

본 연구는 초고령사회에 진입한 우리나라의 고령친화 건축·도시공간 조성 방향과 주안점을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구의 배경으로 우리나라의 인구구조 변화와 고령친화 정책 현황을 검토하고, WHO 고령친화도시 조성 지침을 중심으로 외부공간·시설, 주택·주거환경, 교통의 개선 방향을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 고령친화 건축·도시공간 조성의 주안점을 도출하였으며, 주요 정책과제로 정량적·정성적 진단을 통한 지역별 선결과제 도출, 고령자 일상생활권 파악을 통한 소규모 면(面) 단위 개선사업 추진, 지역사회 지속거주를 위한 고령자 주거 기반 서비스 연계를 제안하였다. 연구결과 초고령사회 대응을 위한 고령친화적 환경 조성에는 지역별 맞춤형 접근이 필수이며, 생활권 기반의 정책적 노력이 필요함을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 국가와 지자체의 고령친화 정책 수립과 실행을 위한 실효성 있는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to propose directions and key considerations for the development of age-friendly architectural and urban spaces in response to South Korea’s transition into a super-aged society. It examines demographic changes and current age-friendly policies in South Korea and analyzes improvement measures for outdoor spaces, housing, and transportation based on the World Health Organization guidelines for age-friendly cities. Based on this analysis, the study identifies key considerations for age-friendly architectural and urban space development and proposes major policy tasks: (1) identifying priority tasks through quantitative and qualitative age-friendliness assessments, (2) implementing small-scale improvement projects focused on older daily living zones, and (3) integrating housing-based services to support aging in place. The findings confirm that a region-specific, tailored approach is crucial for fostering an age-friendly environment and emphasize the need for policy efforts based on older daily living areas. The study’s findings are expected to serve as a valuable reference for future national and local age-friendly policy planning and implementation.
